Reminder that players must agree on version to play, and default is 2nd edition G40, which means if you can’t agree on a version, it has to be 2nd edition G40. Remember to consult the stickied thread for league rules if you have questions, otherwise I’ll try to help.

Default needs to be changed to BM3. Seriously. Reflecting likely more than 95 % of the league games. Heck, even P2V is played more and it’s not even finalized yet.
Being forced into playing OOB is simply not interesting for me (and seemed it’s the same quite many more fellows), so if this league rule will not be revised for atleast L21, I don’t think I’ll continue to struggle in the league. Perhaps not much of a loss for the herd, but anyway.

@trulpen @gamerman01 I suppose the most fair way to solve this when players disagree is to simply toss a coin between the versions? As long as there is more than one version played in the League throughout the season this is the most fair solution in my opinion.

No, the league rules establish that the G40 2nd edition rules are the default. The default may only be modified by agreement of both players. So if players don’t agree, it has to be G40 2nd edition. See league rule #4

I agree about BM (BM4?) should be the default game for the 2021 league.
But I still think P2V should have its own rankings and playoffs. The differences are too much.

There are indeed many huge differences going to P2V. I’ll keep tracking P2V results so that they could be separated if need be, later in the year… Unfortunately it’s too hard to tell at this point whether they should be separated yet… Let’s see how many are finished in January or maybe even February and re-assess…

As for default game, I think it has to be the version that’s available to the world outside this site (out of the box version, basically) - we have very few players who refuse to play “balanced mod”, although of course it does happen, and I think it’s the way it should be… Makes more sense to force someone to play the “public” version than to force someone to play a mod, even if 95% of players only play that mod on this forum. It’s not welcoming to potential newcomers if they have to learn a different version of the game than they’ve been playing.
