I’ve always thought Germany was a strong contender for winning it all. And I thought Brazil looked weaker than they were supposed to be heading into the WC. But man oh man, that was some crazy dismantling of Brazil.

As an aside why aren’t both semi-finals on the same day? Doesn’t seem fair.

Frimmel: Has always been the advantage of the host nation playing on the opening day and always having a longer rest inbetween games (as long as it wins its group of course).
Probably means the high up FIFA officials get to watch both games(for free) too.

Splitting the semifinals has to be a TV thing, they want each to be a standalone.

Of course the semi-finals have to be split!
Imagine your country wins the first semi-final, you want to party hard for a couple of hours and thus miss the second semi-final. It would have happened to me yesterday :-)

I’m not sure about best but damn he was a Timex in that final match. Gotta like a guy that bleeds for his team. Certainly seemed like quit is not in that guy’s vocabulary.
