Dang, curious to see a 13 bid on BM3. Is the game really that favored for Axis even after BM?
It is not, in fact I think it favours the Allies long term, but both JDOW and I know that I play better with Axis side.
My chances are below 50% with this bid, but would be below 30% with +14 for me I believe. JDOW is the favourite in any case but I will try presenting a good battle here gentlemen.
I think at the level you guys are on, it’s hard to argue the statistics. M players vs all opponents Axis have a 9-1 win ratio but only 3-1 as Allies. That’s for the 2018 season so far. Last year, it was about even which is interesting. Perhaps play has moved on, or perhaps there are some statistical anomalies at play here.

In general I believe there is a tendency in the league overall to underestimate the Axis advantage in case the Axis are played right. Maybe there is an optimal Allied strategy to prevent this but I guess we need to find that out. It seems like AxisDominion has made big progress this season in exploring such a strategy.
G1 DOW is a good counter in order to keep the Russians busy to prevent them to stack Yunnan R1. However it opens other options for the Allies on the Europe side I need to explore now (couldn’t open the map yet).

And frankly, I think Juan is right that my winning chances might have been slightly higher in case I would have left him Allies +14. However, I already lost a final playing Axis giving a “record” bid at that time, so psychologically it would have been more “painful” to play Axis, so I took this into account, too when offering Juan that I take Allies +13 which required a deeeeeeep thought :-)

I think this is right on, if there really is an axis advantage I am not sure, but I am convinced it is easier to win with axis than with allies in BM3. I think the main advantage the axis has is; it is much easier to play than allies. Just buy a bunch of Japanese carriers, combine with a can opening force for Italy and voila! Germany is at 80 and japan is at 70 and controlling the DEI. The Allies have to take advantage of combining forces from “all†nations into strongholds. It is hard to plan out

If you have the latest version of the engine you should have all engine updates when you make your moves.
Since this game was created with version 3.3 you don’t have the bug fix for the marine not counting for this US objective “5 PUs if Allies control at least 2 of: Normandy Bordeaux, Holland Belgium, Southern France, and USA has at least one land unit in any of these territories.”
I think you’ll just have to keep that in mind.
