I’m playing an opponent who is preventing Vichy from occurring by having the UK attack Italy’s destroyer and transport in SZ96 from SZ98 with a destroyer, cruiser, tactical from aircraft carrier in SZ98 and a fighter from Malta. Italy’s destroyer is sunk (and transport). Then in the Non-Combat phase, UK loads the transport in SZ98 and lands UK troops in Southern France. Since France is still an ally at this point, this is legal and effectively prevents Vichy mode, since Germany will now have to take Southern France on its next turn. There isn’t any way to prevent this as far as I can tell.

BM3.2 has been uploaded. Resolves issues with Persia convoy lane bonus applying before round 3.
I threw in combined posting for the allies for the map with combat move first. i.e. UK post includes the summary from USA & China; ditto for France wrt ANZAC. If there is any demand I’ll extend that to the standard version.
Is the “combined posting” only available for BM3 CM1st?
Or for BM3 in generell?? -
I’ve added combined turn summary for the purchase first map but it will still give you the option to post. Done the same thing for 2nd ed. You’ll have to re-download the map to get it.
-
To be sure. Right now it is available for BM3 CM1st (BM3 Combat Move 1st) maps and BM2 but not for BM3?
-
There is no BM2 except in the history.
The difference between the combat move 1st maps and the purchase first maps (besides step order) is that the purchase first maps will give you an option to post at the end of the turn. Combat Move first bypasses this. This enables you to play more than two players more easily with Purchase first. In all cases (once you grab the updated version) the summary will include USA/C/UK in the UK summary and ANZAC in the French summary.
Hopefully, this doesn’t cause too much confusion.
-
BM3.3 resolves an issue with the Archangel and Siberian Lend Lease bonus for a Japanese DOW on USSR applying before round 3.
BTW, you also don’t need to post USA/China/ANZAC any more. The summary is included in UK and France. The combat move first map doesn’t prompt you to post but the normal one does in case you’re playing more than two players, as unlikely as that is.

haha. it was briefly considered (by me) for Yugoslavia. . . using the same principle as the Chinese Guerillas. What did you have in mind? Or was it just a pretext to post that awesome picture…
-
No, the partisan’s image came to my mind after the post. I remember how much interesting and funny ideas, for the rule additions, discusses for several years in the site. Partisans, rasputiza (bad weather), super Japan BBs moving 4 spaces. And finally you ended just with marinas.

In BM 2
If the allies liberate such as kwangsi any japanese air or navel bases are destroyed, correct? (does not happen automatically by the game)
-
No, only factories are destroyed.
-
Ok. Is this how it is in oob version too, or is it a bm rule
-
It has always been like this.
-
It has always been like this.
Thank you. I guess it is logical if you consider it! There is a difference between industrial complexes and air and navy improvements.
-
I think the logic was to prevent any confusion about China being able to purchase anything other than inf and art if they captured a factory.
-
If Vichy is in effect, can the Axis use the harbour in Southern France? I don’t see why not.
-
Yes they can.
-
Apologies if this has been asked before. I’m a little confused about what exactly happens in what order if the Vichy Armistice is broken.
The situation: Vichy France has been activated in a previous turn. Italy takes a North African Vichy territory and Southern France.
1. Does he fight the defending troops to conquer Southern France, or is it Pro-Axis enough to just walk in and annex it?
2. If no fighting occurs, do the troops in Southern France join Italy? I’d assume not, but a literal reading of the rules implies they do.
3. Does Italy get the troops in North Africa? As the rules say the rest of the troops are disbanded at the end of the turn, and Italy annexes it before the end of the turn, I’m guessing yes? Feels wrong though. -
1. Walk in.
2. No the units disband.
3. Yes, so if Axis are walking into S France they still have that nation’s turn to take Pro-Axis Vichy territories before the units disband.
