Because they are in the semi-finals now.
Well, the question is why you thought the chances shrunk to a minimum. No reason for it, as I think.

I was very positive about the chances against France. Because I think it’s easier for Germany to match the European teams than South-American teams. It was a close game, of course, as expected.

I can’t wait for Brazil-Columbia…still about 30 minutes to wait. Then we know the first semi-final pairing. :-)

So it is Brazil - Germany in the first semi-final  :-)

Will be great, I’m really looking forward to it. Maybe Dante instead of Silva fighting against his Bayern Muenchen team mates…

After that horrendous foul on Neymar he might be unable to play against us, come Tuesday. As much as I pity him, it will surely enhance our chances to advance into the finals. And of course Thiago Silva missing is a huge blow too.

I gotta think Messi comes through again in some way but that Robben dude for Netherlands is at least as “all that” as Van Persi. Should be a heck of a game.

As usual it’s ending in cagey defensive games due to the K-O system with penalties being too easy an option for the players.

World Cup was better when the 2nd stage was in groups; so should be 4 groups of 4, winners into semi-finals. Back to 2 pts for a win.

Can’t believe nobody has switched keepers for the shootout before. England should have done that in 1990 with Beasant for the immobile Shilton. The 3rd keeper in every squad should be penalty specialist.

All the supposed upsets and we’re left with 4 of the usual suspects - I take Argentina to beat Germany in the final.

I certainly like Germany to make the finals but I think the winner of the Argentina/Netherlands match wins it all. Germany is very machine like (I see them making plays, not just crosses) but Messi and Robben (separated at birth from Jason Statham?) just seem more “it” than Muller. In any event it should be exciting stuff.

Brazil and Scolari got what they deserved. Poor team selection.
I think they are lucky to have got this far. Mexico were better and Colombia were awful against them, after a fantastic World Cup. I fancied them going out last round.
Germany deserves its final. Great team. Beautiful football, diving in the group games notwithstanding.
