@avner Yes, the same problem occurred today… and it looks like it has been already solved.
Moderator list under each forum needs to be updated
-
These are the moderators for each and every forum on this site…
Guerrilla Guy - Last Active: January 05, 2014, 06:55:02 am
DarthMaximus - Last Active: March 31, 2016, 06:53:27 am
dezrtfish - Last Active: February 04, 2013, 02:02:43 pmTo be completely honest, I’ve been a very active member since early 2008… and I’ve never had a single discussion with any of these people.
WHAT’S UP WITH OUR “ACTIVE” MODERATORS?.. are these titles still upon these guys just because they were some of the earliest members here?
-
I think you make a very good point YG.
It would seem that these guys are not moderating anything. Is someone else doing it instead? Or is the role not required?
Edit - thought I should echo P@nther’s willingness to help ……
-
I second this!
Also I would like to add that there appears to be no one who cares for looking at the stickies in the subforums or does some clean-up.
There is an active discussion about that in the “Customizations” forum for example.
In the “Software” forum (one of my favorites) there are more outdated stickies (about 12 out of 16!) than relevant ones.
You will find outdated stickies in other forums, too.
I am not going to only chritizise this, but offer my help, too, of course…
-
It’s great that P@nther has jumped in here, when I was thinking last night who would make an excellent Moderator… his was the first name I thought of. For the record… I’m happy in my Liaison role.
-
I fully pledge for both of you to be moderators!
-
Hehehe …
And I propose Garg for the role!
-
Ha! Thanks for the confident nomination sir!
It would be my pleasure and honour to serve this community!
-
I find it strange that David consistently avoids discussions about moderators.
-
That’s because this community runs rather seamlessly on its own, with very limited moderation.
One can quickly learn the lesson of what over-moderation can do to a community, by looking at other community’s, or even our own history here.
I will say it is time though, for one or two core people to be picked for those roles. And there are lots of great candidates to choose from.
-
I’m surprised that this forum doesn’t seem to have an active moderators. As I’m new to the forum I do not know who might be suitable or not, but I want to vote for active mods to do the occasional cleanup.
-
Jennifer is a mod and is around. We don’t need anybody else.
-
I’ve read lots of great posts by Young Grasshopper, and I’d be happy to have him added as a moderator!

Sounds like good news IL. I can see Jennifer listed as mod on a couple of forums only though. Perhaps this is as simple as updating the mod list for each forum?
On the one hand the mod would be recognised for his/her efforts on behalf of the forum, which we should all appreciate and value.
On the other forum members would know who to contact about relevant issues, such as “stickying” a thread or whatever.

What we need is IL’s moderator powers removed if there are any.
-
Here we go again.
-
Anyone willing to volunteer their time to help the forum gets my support. :-)
Providing it’s not done in secret. Everything should be visible to all.

Than remove the old moderator names from the forum threads, and update the site with the names of the current moderators.
-
Ditto
(Actually I said the same thing a couple of posts ago)
-

The sole reason why you should never be considered for anything more.
Again we don’t need anything more in that area. Also Darth Max. takes care of games sections.

Great! Good to heat that IL, Jennifer and Darth Max are all acting as moderators. I thank them for their efforts on behalf of our a&a community.
Let me try this for a third time. It sounds like all we need to do is update the mod list against each forum. What could be easier?
I do hope that this time that suggestion warrants a reply and then action. If not then I am at a loss as to why the mod list is so determinedly kept secret.
