Error message after choosing losses in version 2.6.14366
Dear all,
I already sent a message to @Panther and @FlyingBadger , but maybe anyone had already experienced (and solved) this issue.
Germany attacked in SZ110, had a few hits, and the Allies have chosen their casualties. Once I press “OK”, I get the below error message.
Has anyone seen this before (and fixed it)? I actually like that “returnfire … is null”, but I would like to continue the game ;-)

@Martin , @FlyingBadger you are sure both running the same version from the start of this game?

@martin, I have seen this one before; I even made a threat with triplea and notified Panther. I have never received a feedback or solution.
I had to do the combat right through it ie I left triplea open with the screen. If you post a save, it might trigger it :expressionless:
Hopefully Christmas comes soon and there is a solution.

As a software developer I have to note that this is the problem with open source software. There is no business model for people continuing to donate tens of thousands of dollars worth of engineering time to keep this thing afloat. Don’t get me wrong, I love having the software, it’s just a case of sometimes you get what you pay for.
Also, Martin, it’s been awhile and I’m playing again so hopefully we can get in a game later this year.

@Panther, yes you are right you did reply, what I meant to say was I have never received a reply from Triplea when I reported to triplea the issue.

Most likely no TripleA developer will ever look into our TripleA support category. This is why I recommended to you to hit the “Report to TripleA” button in that topic. This produces an issue at Github, the place where the developers look and maintain the software (provided someone is active).
The support category here is more or less run by me - where I try to provide user support and help with issues on the user’s side - but I am not a developer or coder.

Do you remember what happened, then? Best would be if you remembered the issue# that was created or shown. I can look into that issue to see if anyone dealt with it. -

Back at my PC. Thank you all for your quick feedback!
I have to admit that we both started to play using an older version and then upgraded during the match - to slightly different versions (FlyingBadger 2.6.14195 and me 2.6.14366).
This was last round, and it worked fine without any issue. This is the first time though that a file was saved in the middle of combat.
And yes, I reported to TripleA.

I am not sure an edit is possible during a battle - I doubt it.

The issue is likely fixed, as I cannot reproduce both of your issues (any longer - concerning Sovietishcat’s issue). I am running a current pre-release version.

https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/releasesAlso I always recommend in the TripleA-support category that players make sure that they both start with the same version of the software, to prevent from possible issues related to differences.

@Panther thank you ever so much! I installed version 2.6.14366 - and choosing casualties and continuing worked!
There were actually numerous hits by the Allies, so I am glad that I only tried locally, LOL :joy:
And yes, going forward I will assure to play the same version as the opponent and not upgrade during the game. It was just too tempting, this time, as it allowed for automatic forum posting from TripleA.

@LennardF I agree, and I would love to pay for TripleA and to have a stable version. And yes, let’s touch base later this year! .-)

I can finally confirm - the issue is solved with TripleA version 2.6.14435

I open the league tab and the first 7 games I see are all being played by Roboto. And I think I see that you are in at least 5 more games!
