i assumed it was going to read as the following.

Europe and Asia connected as they have been for the past 20,000,000 years as one land mass.

but i guess your topic is slightly more interesting.

I’m a bit perplexed by the line that says “Alternately described as the long-lost link between Europe and Asia or the end of the city of Istanbul as we know it, the world’s deepest underwater railway tunnel was opened on Tuesday under the Bosphorus, connecting two continents by rail for the first time.”  Connecting Europe and Asia by rail for the first time?  What about the Trans-Siberian Railway, which has connected Moscow to Vladivostok since 1916?

I did the same thing and asked myself there are zero railways going from one part of this giant landmass to the other? What about the trans-siberian… oh they are talking about Turkey, nevermind.
