:-o Lol I guess I meant every city that is usually contested for when trying to win on the Europe GAME BOARD. (with the exception of London and EUS which if you lost you are doing something very wrong!) Everybody is so darn literal!
-
I had a friend who was so offended when you sad he was born in Europe.
“I WAS BORN IN GERMANY!”
:-D
-
I can definitly identify with Europe, but Germany is fine enough :)
-
Gratz Alex, great game you guys played!
-
@alexgreat:
Yes, he said board, and I told you he likely meant Europe as continent, probably not even counting the UK. What else could he have meant since he never occupied EUS?
And thx for the geography lesson, I would never have known.
:-) Good response -
No, what I was originally questioning is whether he ever took EUS because I didn’t know anything about the game except what he said. Then I found out that he just meant Europe when he actually said Europe board, and then you said he never even took London   -
I see my win against TalleyRand on Apr 14 didn’t count towards my record. Is that because it was a forfeit?
No, absolutely not.
I thought I notified you at least once when you played extra games with Omega1759 (aka the professor)
You are between 10 and 20 games completed. League rules say only best of 5 (first to 3 wins) can be played against a single opponent (that is once you have completed 10 games). You are 2-3 vs. Talleyrand. When you get to 20 games, best of 7 is allowed. Since you won one and lost one that are not yet counted, both will count when you get to…… well, 18 games because those 2 will make 20. So then you will be 3-4 vs. Talleyrand. You have 4 losses to Omega1759 that have not been counted for the same reason. When Omega gets to 9 games completed, I will count one of the losses because that will put him to 10 (I count them as soon as I can). Until then, only 2 losses (best of 3) count.
Of course, the purpose of the rule is to keep people from just continually playing the same people - to help everyone get games
Thanks for head’s up. I’m sure you did notify me, but I just didn’t fully grasp everything :-P
Good to know. I guess I’ll keep having to find more different players to kick my butt around :-D
Thanks for all the hard work.

AeV (Axis) defeats StuckTojo (Allies + 18)

Great game by AeV who hung in there despite some very unlucky dice early in the game.
Eventually he won it with VCs in the Pacific, despite Europe being in big trouble. Personally I’ll never understand how the Allies can lose just because Japan gets a tiny landing force in Hawaii (Victory City rule is ridiculous, in my opinion), but a well deserved win by AeV nonetheless, who recovered from some brutal dice early on that would have overcome most other players.

I agree. It sucks. Happened to me in one of my first G40 games, and I vowed never to lose that way again because it sucks. It is deceptively easy for Japan to win the game, and it is a huge reason the Axis are above .600 for the year. Still not a fan of Axis victory conditions that are completely independent of the other side of the board. They should have to have at least 11 total or something like that

I also note that you are 3-3 with the Axis and 2-9 with the Allies
It’s just a lot easier to win with the Axis is all I’m saying. Maybe try throwing your nets to the other side of the boat
(Not that you have to win to have fun - maybe you prefer taking the Allies) -

Did you post the same result twice?
I’ll wait to record until you answer -

(Not that you have to win to have fun - maybe you prefer taking the Allies)Is it just me, or is this the problem? Virtually everyone on here thinks it’s too easy for the Axis to win. Instead of bids, tweaks, Balanced Mods, etc. maybe the answer lies in simply alleviating the Allies of the burden of having to defend Honolulu as though their lives depend on it (because in 2nd ed. their lives do depend on it).
I say this both for reasons of balancing the game and for historical reasons. Are we really to believe the USA would have simply thrown in the towel, along with the Commonwealth and the USSR, just because a small Japanese landing force managed to briefly take Hawaii?
Just sayin’…. or maybe I’m still smarting from that last squeaker of a loss. :-D
