Do airbases extend range of planes on aircraft carriers

If an aircraft carrier is in a sea zone adjacent to a territory with an airbase does that airbase extend the range of the planes on the aircraft carrier from 4 to 5.

@Ekumpy1. No. Planes only get extra move from airbases on ground only.

I do like the idea that a carrier can move 2 spaces, then launch fighters 3 spaces, then land on land area with 4th space.

Then means you can easally attack sz110 and sz 6 from US boarders.

@aequitas-et-veritas @Imperious-Leader sounds like a poor idea. using the retreat/strafe rule + allied fighters on board, they can already move in gamey ways, extending their range. The combination of the “shuttlebombing” rule (planes onboard now can switch out and land elsewhere while the carriers do double duty and recieve planes farther away), the “possible landing zone” (carrier could somehow, anyhow make it, or even die, or not move) and the “4 move rule” (planes can attack up to 4 full spaces away as long as any carrier can reach that square from any direction) and “newly built carrier” rule–are already complex enough and provide for plenty of surprise and movement without giving them even more unrealistic flexibility carriers are incredibly powerful to the detriment of almost all other ships in Global.

@aequitas-et-veritas @ssgen I should have flagged all of the old crew as well. Mobility means less on the smaller maps (AA50 even). Carrier manipulation is THE hallmark of G42/tournament play and all G40 variants. In my current game (G42/7 turns/221) against the relentless and indomitable MAPHEAD dave I have 5 Japanese carriers just to port all my planes around.
