Hi Dagon
So I;m a little confused …
A. If I only purchased the “cards” . would I Have a need for the “units” “tokens” Bases , Bombers etc…
B. The price of 54 cards for 7 bucks …you have got to be kidding? Are they one sided?
-
@malstrom Hi, the deck is $4.98. You can play with just the cards, but maybe 7 or less of these cards won’t make much sense…because they have references to the tac bombers, bases and France…
-
Okay Dagon 81… So everything gets choppy and confused. Your saying its 4.98 for every printing of 7 cards. And the cards are useless without using the other “cardboard” … Sorry to be a tech writer. But what are all the costs for a full deck and what other pieces are needed at total cost. Looked like in the last post you said approx under 50 bucks.? Thx!

Deck prices are there, poker size deck.

@Dagon81 awesome work! Thanks so much for sharing with the community.

Here’s A few samples I got from printer I use. They look good. Printed on 100 lb card stock but I’m going with the thin styrene for durability and to wipe off.
Will get rest of cards couple days. Some cards were tweaked to fit my game.

Awesome cards. Nice aesthetic and callback to NAs in Revised.
Minor quip: “Powerful Battleships” may be more appropriately named “Super Battleships”, at least that is often what the Yamatos were described as. “Powerful” implies offensive strength, whereas the advantage is related to defensive resilience.
-
@LHoffman was thinking the same…even though the advantage is called Most Powerful Battleships in the Revised Ed… changed it… also the Flying boats its now Sub-Hunters, makes more sense as I definitely wanted a de Havilland tactical bomber on the image… :)
-
Ya I already had Tacs hitting surfaced subs @3. If you get the card/NA Sub Hunters your Tac bombers now can hit surfaced subs @4 first round of combat. Destroyer present Sub can still dive after Tac bomber attack but then Destroyer gets a depth charge attack. Depth Charge attack could be another NA card for your game or AA50.
Just to clarify I use a D12 system dice. But also use d6, d8, d10. list I use in case of confusion if I post more pics of cards.
D6 = roll for 2 NA’s at start of game and roll for tech breakthru.
D8 = SBR Stg Bomber roll 1d8+1, NA/card German Tac SBR roll 1d8 Damage and ship repairs 1D8.
D10 = SBR H Bombers roll 1d10+1, roll for your 1 tech on a 10 tech chart tree.
Tacs can also take out AA guns. 1d12 @3.Didn’t mean to go off topic a bit.
Thanks Dagon again for your awesome cards.
I’ll post more pics when I get rest of cards.
-
By the way with the Stg Bombers SBR at d8+1 is making the game have more bombing in it because the reward is having a chance to do max damage with 1 bomber. But everything facility in game has a max damage to it. At least you can bomb max damage on minor IC, AN bases, Oil derricks, train stations, train tracks and resources.

Nice! I was trying to wrap my head around a Hornet or Mosquito on a Flying Boats card and understood your intent, but I think what you changed to works better overall.
Again, great set of cards. I followed Young Grasshopper’s Delta card deck with great interest a few years ago and have been collecting art to create my own at some point. But this set is very simple, is based in established A&A legacy and the aesthetic matches perfectly with the A&A brand.
The German Advanced Research card is genius, both in the illustration chosen and the reasoning behind the card. Easily my favorite.

Thanks, glad you like it ;) I believe the biggest challenge was with the Free French cards and a getting a dynamic mechanism for these. The idea for the Flying boats card was to have a Short Sunderland aircraft on the image but the British A&A tactical bomber is a Mosquito… so went for a pic of this one instead…but the title doesnt match… I think sub-hunters is a broader term and makes more sense altogether. Otherwise… this would be the card:

Just putzin.

A ton of options out there.

Like the Bismark idea. As a matter of fact, the whole “event” type house rule is pretty sweet.
-
Giving the Bismarck-class equivalency with the Yamato’s certainly isn’t accurate. And IMO cheapens an exclusive NA to Japan - if that is part of your game.
