oh…. That makes sense :-D Thanks for getting back to me so soon :-D
Advanced Battle of the Bulge game

@general-6-stars that is kind and I am sure many will use your ideas.
-
The Map. The setup cards for turn 8 orange have been adjusted to map turn 8 color orange.
-
Here’s the casualty and retreat chart.
You have to pick casualties and retreats in order on the chart.
Example below shows the axis getting 6 kills and the allies getting 4 kills.
So you start at Infantry and go to your right and take your casualties in order. Leave token at that spot. IF there’s another round of combat then you would take casualties starting from there. For retreats you have to retreat 1 unit per 2 casualties. SO for axis 4 kills equals 2 retreats and they are a inf and a armor. The allies would need to retreat 3 units and they would be Inf, armor and a mech.
Leave token there. If another round of combat you continue taking retreats from there. This is a d6 system and both sides get to attack and defend per turn. No more casualty strips.
If there is no unit available next in line, then you skip until you get to the next available unit. -
@general-6-stars Nice work General ! I actually had this confused with D-Day so i haven’t played this before. The combat system looks fun
-
Printed out a few charts. Looks good.

End of turn 3. Allies had to retreat some as the norm. Bastogne under axis control. Patton just showed up with his 3rd armor division but will need the UK Guards to help out in the center
Bradley is in the North now.
Ha can’t seem to find Monty !!!
Axis has 19 points. Need 30 for win. Some big cities worth points just out in front of line. Axis gets a 1 time in game a V-2 attack on the city of Liege. Might be time to use it since there’s a couple of divisions there now to attack.Axis has the 5th panzer division coming out too with 4 tanks. Then 1 more tank division on turn 5 and that’s it for axis power.
The allies artillery are gonna need to kill some tanks when they roll ones.
-
End of turn 4. Patton showed up to hold the city west of Bastogne.
End of turn 5. Epic Patton holds the city and forces the axis tank division to retreat.
Axis at 25 points. It’s gonna come down to 2 of the 4 big cities out in front of line.
The axis used there V-2 one time in game shot at the city of Leige and only killed 2 units. But then axis attacked it with ground and took it over.
Axis only has 2 divisions left for turn 6 but allies have at least 8. Will see what happens.
Also UK attacked the division outside of Bastogne to the north to hopefully help hold in that area. A few tank divisions still coming for allies but can the damaged tigers take it all. -
Epic game. Axis win with 30 points at end of turn 8. Patton’s tank divisions in the south were epic. One defense roll was 5 tanks getting 5 hits plus great hits on a attack or 2 to push Germans back but just came up short.
Bradley in north did good with his tanks and did a great job north. Where the hell was Monty ?
!!!
Came down to Patton’s tank division would of been weak against the axis in Bastogne on last turn attack plus US planes had to be in 2 other cities. As you can see not really any units left on map.
I played with tigers getting 2 hits but if damaged went down to a 3. -
Another good game. Axis got there 30 points for the win. Allies took back some cities and just came up short in La Roche. Patton got pushed back but on allies turn came back with air support and took a city back. Allies just fell short. Also they did get a few bad rolls but it is what it is .
End of turn 4.
End of game.
-
Ya Witt. Monty’s not to good first round for his tank division but made up for it 2nd round and took Liege back
-
@general-6-stars I am glad you have time amd friends with whom to play. I have to play AAA.
Although, that first BoB game in three years, that I played three weeks ago, was a delight . (Especially, as I won!).
Yesterday , Raffy (7) and I played a game of Memoir 44. He will be my regular partner in 3-5 years, I think. Al and I do play friends every few months , but not strategy games. -

End of turn 3. Axis up to 16 points. Monty and Patton just showed up with their army’s. UK guards division with some more tanks coming plus 2 more US tank divisions coming next turn. Do the allies retreat back one more hex’s ? Or get out the hair and duct tape !
US trying something a bit different this game. Maybe go a bit more south to take back that extra city to block the win ? Patton’s ready to get attacked. Monty may wimpier back ?
Ha. US may finally hold Bastogne.
Allies won a decent battle south to knock out the axis there. Plus Allies Air Force on Fire for escorting and intercepting them German jet fighters. Denying any axis air attack and allies getting in a few kills each turn with there limited planes. Time will tell ! -
@general-6-stars hold the line. No retreat! The Germans will run out of steam (petrol) and I have a feeling the skies will clear very soon and your superior air power can come into play.
-
Witt !
Must of played Allies correct. Lol. Pics are of end of turn 5 and end of turn 8.
Allies dominate !End of turn 5

@general-6-stars Per the Axis ZOC rules, they should have closed that gap a long time ago–Axis units control the three hexes behind them, provided no Allied units are in them.

Axis do control the 3 hexes behind Allies. This just shows where the front line is. Unless your trying to say something else
-
@general-6-stars silly Germans forgot to bring along enough fuel. Had to walk home , after abandoning their beautiful tanks.
Should have sent them East to block nasty Stalin from entering Germany proper , using them as pill boxes and saving German lives and property . Were never going to reach Antwerp or the sea .
Stupid Waste of the last reserves. -
Here’s another game in process. This is after 4 turns. Axis has 16 points. Need 30 for win. Allies retreated to set up there attacks on turn 5 and or 6. Probably 5 based on Air Force.
Axis trying a tighter formation with a division south to divert a few allies units from Bastogne.
Allies are willing to give up 9 points to reinforce. -
