Hello from Dallas,
I am a new member from Dallas as of yesterday.

Hi. I go by Irving Arturion and I’m new to this forum. I have been playing Axis and Allies since 2015, but I am still a novice at the games.
I play 1914, 1940 Global (second edition), Anniversary, and 1941. Anniversary and Global are my favorites.
There’s not much else to say. Thank you for reading.
Welcome! Perfect choice in games!
Hi All!
I’m Greyleaf3. I’m a 40-something computer geek (IT support person) from the metro NYC area. I played a whole lot of A&A classic as a teen in the late 1980s. I must’ve played over 100 times back then! I bought A&A revised in 2004 and A&A 1941 in 2017, and both games sat on the shelf unused until recently.
My teenage son became interested in Axis & Allies and it reignited my interest in the hobby. In the past three months, I have played revised four times, 1941 twice, Europe & Pacific @ once each. Also played DDay & Global 1940 exactly once each.
I am astounded by the level of commitment and dedication of some A&A youtubers such as the “Canadian crew” (General hand grenade and others). I am also in awe at the variety, depth, and complexity of A&A games on the market.
I guess it would be cool to find some other grown-up gamers to play with face-to-face in my area. Not sure how I feel about A&A Online on Steam.
@greyleaf3 Welcome! Lots of great choices and you can play here via TripleA in League or Play Boardgames.
@greyleaf3 You should setup your own YouTube channel since you are a Computer Geek real easy, that way you can Network and meet quite a few players from the A&A community- maybe even join in some YouTube gameplay eventually as well!!!🎲💥
@djensen Helle from Denmark. I am a mother playing with my 12 year Old son, and we are both new to AAZ. We have so much fun playing. Question : if a territory with an industrial complex is liberated, Can you use it straight away ( because it was originally yours) or do you have to wait until the next round ( like if you capture an enemy’s complex) ?
Sincerely, Lene
@lenerask good day and welcome to the forum.
My daughter is 11 and isn’t interested in playing, but my 5 year old has seen me playing on line and now plays a little.
I have high hopes he will be my second partner, after my wife (who only plays me once a year now).
I am afraid the liberated IC cannot be used until the following turn.
@lenerask I believe if it was not in your possession at the start of your turn you can not use it right away.
@witt Thx for helping us. Now we can continue our game 👍
@general-ld Thx, that kinda makes sense👍 (sucks for me, though, I was wrong😆).
@lenerask we all get the rules wrong from time to time. That is why this forum is so useful.
Enjoy the rest of your game (and remember you are meant to lose to your children ). Not your wife!
Good question…
In this game everything takes place Once per turn. except when attacking then you have your turn to attack and the enemy to attack both in the same turn. has his turn. Then the results are resolved. Basically you have to wait until the smoke clears to do something else with your stuff. Makes sense, so that you can see what you have.
@lenerask I love this post immediately. I am enthralled that a mother is playing a game like this with her son. Female players are few and far between. Way to go Lene
Great… Don’t be afraid of making a mistake with the rules. No police will come to the door… Just play as best you can. You will only realize you are not playing correctly when the German’s keep winning WW2.
@lenerask Welcome! I too love the fact a mother is playing with her son on so many levels. AWESOME! I remember beating my mother mercilessly in Parcheesi when I was like just 4 years old. I loved to block and never opened it!
As for the game a good rule of thumb is to remember that to use something you must own it at the beginning of your Turn. That applies to Canals, Naval Bases, new, captured and upgraded Industrial Complexes and territory to place infrastructure in.
@eisenhower The Police have been called and will knock shortly. Enjoy your day sir!
@sgt-mclusky I think I will. I just bought 1940 eur and pacific. It looks like fun
Hey Guys,
My name is John, I’ve only recently discovered Axis and Allies. My best friends played 1941 when he was in middle school, and introduced it to me a few years ago. He didn’t even know that there were other versions out there, but I became very intrigued by the game and did some research and discovered all the other variants out there, such as Anniversary Edition and Global 1940. Now both of us own 1941 and Global, I own 1942 Spring and he owns Anniversary Edition. I play Global with him over facetime since we now live in different states, but I really want to expand my Axis and Allies collection, maybe even getting into Global War '39 and '36 at some point in the future.
@johnnukacola Welcome to the force, you really should check out the 1942 Second edition for it’s a remarkable improvement over the Spring edition!!!
@nolimit Thank you for the warm welcome! Yes, I actually do have 1942 second edition, my apologies. I said the wrong one.
I like d day.
The Germans were totally overwhelmed by the d day invasion.
Erwin Rommel who was in charge of the defense knew that it was hopeless even before the invasion began. It seems that by the time of d day, the allies had command over the skys of europe. And the germans were overextended in Russia.
Rommel Tried to explain it to Hitler. Who said he knew that he could not win, but he wanted the germans to die fighting anyway,
