@cpadebo hey I live in Dixon and I have a couple of friends from sac I play a&a with from time to time. If you are still interested, I think they would be down. It’s pretty chill. We are most experienced in classic but lately we are learning global 40. We have played Europe, dday, zombies, and spring 42. Let me know.

RE: Complex question and boat questions
@barnee Thanks for the response. Page 8 in the rule book answers all 4 of my questions under territories for major complex placement and under sea zones which define hostile sea zones. BTW p8 also defines special restrictions concerning Japanese movement when not at war.
I do have one more question on minor factories though. Can they be placed on captured territories of 2 or higher, assuming you have owned for a turn?

alphabetical search engine
Don’t get me wrong I like the content of this forum but as a suggestion of improvement could we get an alphabetical search engine. Otherwise, we spend way too much time searching for content.
Thanks

RE: Convoy Disruption
@witt so to clarify… you can conduct convoy disruptions no matter if enemy ships are present or not.

RE: 👋 Introduce or Re-Introduce Yourself (Current)
Hi everyone. I live in northern California and I have always loved a&a. I started playing in the 80s with classic and still play to this day. We had a large group of friends that would play, but now I have only 2 go to friends for this game. I use to play a lot but now only average 2-3 games a year. I consider myself an expert at this version. We have tried a couple of the other games Europe, DDay, 1942 but we always revert back to the original.
Its nice to see this game has thrived over the years and expanded. I wish baseball got this much enthusiasm. Other interests include brewing, home repair, and running.
What a year. Hopefully this COVID virus gets kicked to the curb soon and we can all have face-to-face games in the future. Please post upcoming tourneys or conventions. You never know, we could meet in the future

RE: 👋 Introduce or Re-Introduce Yourself (Current)
@Nolimit The answer is no to both. Isn’t the anniversary like 500?

RE: 👋 Introduce or Re-Introduce Yourself (Current)
@Nolimit lol No, I meant didn’t the anniverary board game cost $500. I am kind of a cheap bastard.
As far as a classic game goes, that sounds like fun. Although, I am not sure how a you tube game would work. I have never done it before. Let me know how that would work and we could set something up.

RE: Sealion
@superbattleshipyamato I ended up not doing an early sealion. Instead I opted for a mid game sealion and got it round 5 I think. I did a J1 attack and took Calcutta J3. China was taken J5 as well or close to it. I had incredible rolling during this game. I was able to take out all of uk Europe boats which allowed Italy to grow. I even took eastern us with Italy because they weren’t paying attention. Too busy trying to buy a naval fleet in the Pacific. In the end they couldn’t stop me when I took Sydney. One of my best games.

Factory damage
If a major factory has 20 points damage and gets taken over and reduced to a minor does it still retain 20 damage?

West India
In global 40, is West India part of the Pacific economy? I think I remember reading or watching a video that said it was. Maybe a ghg video.

RE: Sealion
@ampdrive Thanks for the response.
#1 I was planning on buying two destroyers and a bomber g1 and a carrier and transports g2 before landing G3. I think that coupled with the cruiser might be enough to survive an assault from UK. It would wipe out their air force if they tried it. Maybe couple that with a strategic BS retreat g1 if it worked out that way? #2 Your right any blocker could be dealt with by Italy air I think. #3 I think America is the hardest to play. I know my opponent is very weak at playing America in this version. I will look to take advantage of him by putting pressure on him in the Pacific. #4 Russia is what worries me the most. I normally focus on Russia and I feel most comfortable with marching to Moscow (my opponent is expecting me to) but we will see if things work out favorable to sealion in the early rounds. A bomber and destroyers purchase allows me to change my mind.
So my thinking is this. With two trips I will have 32 -36 ground units plus let’s say 8-15 planes attacking Britain round 4 with a decent navy. Each infantry will be paired with something. Britain will be bombed each round to the max starting turn 2 so they probably only buy 6-8 infantry after their initial buy. I think I could probably take it keeping most of my tanks and planes. With my navy intact I can easily swap out my tanks with infantry just in time to fight the Russians.

RE: Sealion
@superbattleshipyamato I am thinking of doing a sealion but in two different waves G3 and G4 instead of just one. Scottland round 3 and UK round 4. I was going to transport in 7-8 full transports on each turn with bomber buys to take out the UK factory each round. Have you ever tried this? If you have, are there any drawbacks to this strategy?

Sealion
If Germany is doing a sealion, is a destroyer necessary to protect Germany’s naval fleet from the sub in sz127? Assume it has moved to sz125

Neutral Russia
Can Russia move their navy anywhere when neutral? Global 1940.

RE: Can a single US dest block a whole Jap fleet in sz 25?
Personally, I think the rule is cheesy and probably should be revised. Maybe have it similar to an amphibious assault where you have to resolve the blocker first. But can designate what naval pieces are in what battle prior to attack. It would probably be more realistic.
