Java update problem
-
I did a Java update yesterday and now when I try to open Triple A I get this message…
Launch4j
The registry refers to a nonexistent Java Runtime Environment installation or the runtime is corrupted. The system cannot find the file specified.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
-
I updated my Java yesterday and don’t have any problems.
It is always a good idea to completely remove older Java versions before updating.
Just in case you did not do that…
Do you have your JRE from www.java.com ?
Also better download the full offline installation file in case you did the online update.
Did you perform an uninstall and try to install again?HTH :-)
Edit:
Here is another link that might be helpful:

I’ve never had a problem with Java updates before, but I’ve uninstalled Triple A and am in the process of installing again …will let you know if I have any problems then.

Do you have a TripleA-installation-file that includes in any way Java?
-
I think one of the Triple A installs I did in the past had Java with it….
But, I uninstalled Triple A and cleaned out the old Java and everything is working fine now.
thanks for your help! -
Anytime, good to hear that it works now. :-)

Hello
Wittmann updated Java this morning, loaded a game of TriplA, made his move and stored the savegame here.
When I try to load the savegame I get:I updated Java also to latest version - java 8 Update 101 - (uninstalling old one first)
but still same error. Wittmann and others get the same error for that file.
Does somebody know what to do?
I contemplated moving back to and older Java version, but that seems not so perfect.
-
I have found your game thread and will try loading the savegame into my installation.
Back to you soon. -
Are you playing the balanced mod?
Just asking because I see a lot of errors, but it seems playability is not affected.
-
OK, I have found something:
Please check the folder where your savegames are stored.
On my system - for any reason - the G14-savegame-files have a size of ‘0’ and are empty when downloaded. -
We are.
Thank you. It would seem I, inadvertendely, downloaded a new Java. Must have been still half asleep.I am not sure what that means, but Elrood probably does. He can look later, when free.
Thanks again. -
I tested Anzac13 and a G14 turn locally. The resulting savegame loads fine with my Java8u101, so we can exclude the Java Update being the reason.
-
@wittmann:

It means that the reason for this problem probably is an issue with downloading the savegame from the forum.
I am not sure but I think we had that once in the past… I will investigate a bit…You can continue your game by just mailing the savegame to your co-gamers until this issue is resolved.
-
I can email it, can I? Okay.
Will do that.
Have a good evening and thank you for your time and patience. -
Other forum-games are affected too as I tested. This issue must have started today.
I will post it to the Website-Forum.Edit:

So what’s the fix?
I use a Mac
-
Nothing you can do. It’s a website issue. I am sure djensen will fix it anytime soon.
Just continue your games sending the savegames by mail
-
Update:
It works again now. New savegames can be downloaded correctly from the forums.
But it appears that the savegames that were posted to the forum during the last about 24 hours
are still broken (filesize 0). -
Broken again.
