  • At the end of game 6, we had a discussion about game results being influenced by player talent. A suggestion was made about choosing 2 captains, and they would alternate choosing players. I’ve come up with a way to implement it.

    This team game is dragging at times. So, perhaps we could initiate another 1914 team game series simultaneously for those willing to play in 2 series at once; or else we could pause this series after this game and try a fixed team format.

    My suggestion is 2 captains, total of 3 or 4 players per side. Entente and CP would have equal number of players. Teams would alternate games between Entente and CP; and players would rotate through the assigned positions after each game.

    Every player would play each position once on both sides of the board. 6 players = 6 games in a series; 8 players 8 games. i.e., a player might be Germany 1st game, then say France, Serbia, etc in 2nd game, then Austria game 3, and Italy, Arabia, etc in game 4, and so on in a fixed rotation.

    Just a thought for your consideration.


  • I hesitate to suggest the above proposal, as it might cause hurt feelings among players over who picked whom, etc. Or being committed to a specific team for multiple games. The current format has worked for other team games like W@W.
