Hmm, I felt the Japanese attack on Yunnan was good there. Am I allowed to say that?
The fact that Adam resists such temptations is one of the reason, he why does not lose with Axis. Any attack, that has the potential to cripple the Japanese air force, brings the chance to lose control over the game.
The main reason not to attack is the fact that Japan could bring its mainland army next to Yunnan anyway this turn. So why risk precious planes when you can just burst the “yunnan riot” safely one turn later?Yeah, surely you are correct here. I find this a surprising result. Axis start the game massively behind on paper so need to expand really aggressively. Declining such attacks slows their advance, even if by a turn.
I suppose the answer to this conundrum is that you need to look at where both sides will be around turns 6-9, which is likely to be only a slight economic edge to the allies. If the Axis lose too many forces in their expansion the allies can then use their material superiority to turn the tide. Or something like that.
Great move by 666 to stand there though - as Sun Tzu says, “know your enemy”. I would surely have retreated which has proven that it would have been a mistake.
