I’m happy to report you are not alone and we’ve had a couple other old veterans come back recently.

I guess you did play a couple in 2023.

Since January 2024 we have a different rankings board that is superior in many ways (but not all!) to the old. If you haven’t already, look over the 2025 league rules. Toward the top, you will see links to the old and new rankings.
One of the most powerful features of the new ELO system is in the “results” tab, type in a name and see all prior history, detailed games, for that player. We entered all game results since G40 came out, so all G40 data is in there, and ratings are based on every league G40 games a player has had in the league.

Thanks for the offer but for now I am going to try and wait for a global game. One of my problems in the past was I would get to many games going on at once and it would cause issues. If I don’t get any takers in the next few days I will reach out.

I’m looking to play a couple league games on 1940 global OOB rules if anyone is interested! Alternatively classic with league rules.

I’m fancying a game of PtV, preferably against someone against whom I have a slight chance of making it competative - so looking for an opponent with an ELO of 1500 or less. For reference my ELO is 1332.

@FlyingBadger I’ve got an ELO of 1522, but it’s based on games of Global I played 5 years ago – currently playing my first two human games of PtV now. As soon as one of them finishes, I’d be happy to play you next if you’re interested.

@FlyingBadger your current ELO is 1553! Mine is only slightly higher, and likely to come down after my current games are finished! My PTV skills are not great it seems…Happy to play you if you are interested

As @Argothair is saying, he’s just now getting into PtV while @FlyingBadger has 21 games under his belt

@wizmark is 5-4 with a 1538 in PtV, so almost in badger’s desired range but not quite

Badger only has 3 PtV games completed since 1/1/23 so doesn’t have a ton of recent experience, most is years ago

Argothair hasn’t played in the league since 2019

I recommend you play Argothair and teach him some PtV the HARD way!!! lol

@Argothair Looks like you are doing quite well in both your current PtV games. Check back after one has finished and let’s see where we are both at.

@wizmark Your PtV ELO is 1538 and you have won 5 of 9 games. Seems like a decent record to me, but maybe we could play if you think it’s not too much of a mismatch?

Yes, I am a relatively experienced PtV player, although that experience mostly consists of me getting my ass kicked. Has it really been over two years since I last played PtV, damn! Do the horses still move two up and one to the side, or is that the castles?..

This is why I’m trying to use ELO to find a game I can be competitive in, don’t mind being the underdog but there’s definitely some PtV who would easily beat me to death with a sock full of s**t.

Just realised I was playing a PtV game last month. I’d say I need to drink less, but I rarely drink - maybe that’s the problem.

That game got aborted early though, so it has been one and a half years since I last completed a PtV game, and in the last two and a half years I’ve only won one PtV game (other than claiming a game due to inactivity).

@FlyingBadger I’ll give you a game if you want. Hopefully my losing record will be enough to lure you in.

@FlyingBadger Mika is kicking my ass in 1 game and im probably going to lose against Max as well. So my main experience is losing! DM me a bid if you want to play :)
