I ended up adding a fourth air base for Russia in Caucasus lol! Just for you Karl!
Game is concluded tho, was a very fun and challenging game!
so if you look at our game, you’ll see russia bought 3 air bases: in bry, tam, and volg…this is so they can all scramble to protect rostov against an italian can opening. that’s 9 planes that can scramble to defend!
WOW!
Axis D you are blowing my mind! That would open up huge tactical defense options! It would also partly remedy Axis and Allies’ major prejudice in favor of the attacker, i.e. the attacker can always mass his air units against one defending territory but not vice versa.
combine that with making airbases cost say 8ipcs in stead of 15 and allow as many airbases in a territory equal to its value… then we’d be talking!

Was it deemed a draw?

Was it deemed a draw?
No adam got diced hard in a big naval battle at the end. I had overlooked 5 extra figs in India that could reach 54, giving him 93% odds and avg tuv over 100. But the actual rolling told a different story! Plus I had a lot of luck throughout the game, for ex my bombers kept freely knocking out the Japanese garrisons in Chinese territories with very little losses. I had decided earlier in the game to abandon India and launch into china to start gradually resurrecting the Chinese. I wanted my Indian stack to be more troublesome for the Japanese who were sitting pretty comfy having conquered all of china easily and dominating the pacific from the carolines. Sitting in Burma just wasn’t effective enough so I took the plunge lol. In doing so, he was forced to pull back his navy from its dominant position to help fortify fic and other potential threats, and of course he easily grabbed an almost naked India. But then this gave the Americans a chance to finally make some forward naval progress. It was a bold idea but I do think it ended up going well for me after all. I always wanted to try that but never had the courage in a league game cuz it’s fairly crazy to ditch one’s cap haha

So has there been any fix to the fact that triple a 1.9 still shitts itself on a mac when the scramble prompt comes up? It just flashes.
One option would be to run a Linux or Windows virtual machine in a Virtualbox window. Linux has the more attractive price tag.

How do I join a league?
just start playing, in the league we are playing primarily Balance Mod two that you can find in the threads. Read through them, download the files you need and wait for someone to accept your challenge or if someone is asking for a game accept the challenge.

A fix may be available for the Mac scramble box in 1.9.0.0.3373. It seems to work for me.

Spoke too soon. I can still duplicate the problem at the second attempt.

Time to start thinking about 2017 league rules
I can’t change it for 2016, but I think the league playoff is too big - it takes about a year or more to complete a playoff of 8.
I am thinking a playoff of the top 4 for league champion would be good, but am putting it out here for comment.
I think it would be better to have all the other playoffs be groups of 4 as well. I also think it could be funner for all if I choose the groupings of 4 for the additional playoffs (but not until after 2017 because the 2016 league rules state groups of 8 )
Generally trying to keep tight groupings of similar PPG’s, but taking a little liberty to select matchings, for example, a grouping of 4 players who have all completed like 40+ games.
In the past, I’ve just run down top to bottom by PPG and grouped the first 8, and the next 8.
Seedings would still be by PPGJust putting this out there to see if there’s support or vehement protesting
Again, 2016 is NOT subject to any change, I am talking about next year because it’s time to draft the rules for next year
-
With only 4 in the playoffs there’s a high chance of someone with a decent shot of being champion to miss out on the playoffs, not to mention the fact that players who want to make the playoffs will be many times more careful who they play and how many games they play.
1 year to play 3 games is a huge amount of time, simply having an outside moderator bump the slow games would speed the process enough to finish within a year.
-
Maybe reduce the 72hour bump to 48 hours for playoffs and no weekend only players for playoffs?
There’s nine games involved isn’t there?
Play all 3 games vs each opponent simultaneously?
I think it would be herculean effort to get into the 2017 playoffs after my 2016 but you never know. I’ve learnt a lot I think.

Actually, if you can’t make the top 4 you’re probably not deserving. Every year since G40 league playoffs have been played, the final 2 were always one of the top 4 seeds. Cutting out one of the three games would get us a champion much faster
, not to mention the fact that players who want to make the playoffs will be many times more careful who they play and how many games they play.
I’m not sure who wants to be a league champion so badly. I’m the 2-time league champion and no-one has thrown a single flower garland at my feet or put laurels on my head. The thrill is in the hunt

This is true. The bump wouldn’t have to be after every 3 day delay either - some championship moves do take a night’s sleep or 3, but your point is very true. I hear Zhukov is taking like 2 weeks to make a move these days. I was a bad offender earlier in the year, too
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll see what others may say and evaluate it on the whole

I do appreciate the feedback, but as Adam adroitly pointed out, we need only somewhat enforce our currently existing 72 hour rule. Players need more time, not less, in the playoffs to make their moves, and maybe we do have a weekend player or two in a playoff and I wouldn’t want to force them to play every couple days

No, just one game played at a time, single elimination - no “rounds” or anything like that
