Thanks gentlemen, looks I need to read the rules closer!
Pacific 1940 2nd Edition
-
Due to some luck in a raffle at GenCon (which we seemed to lack in the AA50 tourney) I have been able to secure the new 2nd Edition Pacific and Europe.
The Pacific map has SZ6 fixed, Honolulu on the right Island, and new pieces for the Anzacs (which might never see the board). The convoy boxes are easier to see also. I have not opened the Europe game yet. See squirecam.Initial setup units have changed for each country, but the map is essentially the same except for the fixes.
If someone can instruct me on how to upload pics I can do that too.
For those who do not know me, my partner and I won AA50 tournament at Gencon in 2011.

Congrats on the tournament man. I haven’t posted pix before.
Someone will tell you how to soon looking forward to seeing the game. -
SZ6 is fixed, as in it no longer borders Korea?

Congratulations on getting your hands on an advance copy of Pacific 1940 2nd ed!
I don’t know if the picture-posting option is available to new members (I think one needs a certain number of post counts), but it works as follows. Below the box in which you type a message, and above the Post / Preview buttons, there’s a clickable feature called Additional Options. When you click on it, an Attach box appears, plus informatin on mamimum allowable file size, plus a Browse button. The browse button allows you to select picture files from your drive. The More Attachments feature on the righ allows you to create two more attachments, for a total of three per post.
If these features don’t appear in your browser, then it’s because of the minimum-post threshold I mentioned. In that case, you might want to send a personal message to a board member who does have posting rights and arrange to email the pictures to him for reposting. I’m sure any of the people here who are eager to get a glimpse of the new game (myself included) would be happy to help in this way.

Lets see if this works.

Cool Marc!
Thanks for the lesson! -

SZ6 surrounds Korea, SZ5 issues are corrected.
I sent pictures to an older member so that they may be posted in the forum. I guess I am too young to do these things.

ValGal has kindly provided a few Pacific 1940 photos, which I’ll post on his behalf. His original files are too large to post, so I’ll start with a few reduced-sized versions then work on producing larger ones that fit the forum’s limits on attachment sizes. First, here are the ANZAC units:
-
Next in line: a close-up of Japan’s set-up:
-
And now we have a picture of the overall board set-up:

Now for larger versions:

The next picture…

And the final one:

WOW. Anzacs look great!

I agree! That’s an awesome infantry sculpt!

Superb Anzac units. Hope to see the air and other land units soon.
A new mech inf for Japan ( check in Manchuria ). Same old fleet though.
British 25 pdr, good to know.
Will HBG sell those units or will I have to buy the whole game or wait for HBG japanese sets ? More $$$ anyway.

What about the industrial production chart across the top? How will it work when you put it together with Europe for the Global game?

One thing i immediately saw was now Japan attacking Hawaii will be more Historical, as the carriers move above Hawaii and launch planes only. If they win the Americans can only bring planes over to counter back and Japan can easily overcome this by bringing more ships as fodder.
