Piece Storage and keeping games intact

  • I prefer to keep my games separate. There a a couple of exceptions. I have 3 copies of classic 2nd ed that share a box. I threw out the worst board and one set of styrofoam unit trays.  I combined my 1940 2nd ed pieces in country specific PLANO boxes. They are adjustable with 5 to 20 spots. One for my gamers paradise tokens one each for germany japan italy us uk russia anzac. China and france share a box. The shared pieces like facilities and chips (and soon to be plag poles, battle markers and damage chips) have their own boxes. My 2004 revised, 42 2nd ed and preordered anniversary 2nd ed are/ will be separate. If i get 41 it will be for pieces so those might go in with global and i plan on getting white inf for neutrals which will go in with chips and facilities.

    @Bob77:

    I prefer to keep my games separate.

    To each his own of course.

    Personally, I prefer the bigger nation bins that combining them allows. Whether I’m playing 1941, 1942 (and/or if I owned Global), Germany is Germany, UK is UK, etc, etc… so I don’t really see a need to keep the bins separate by game, especially since I don’t play two games at the same time so I only need one nation bin per country.

    Naturally, everyone will do what’s best for their own situation/philosophy on the matter.

  • I keep my games separate, however I add pieces to them from HBG.
