Underrated films worth watching!

How about we build up a list of films that everyone’s forgotten about that were pretty bad ass!

Just watched “Night of the living creeps” lol epic ending…

Runnning Man is also another awesome film.

My number 1 most underrated film is: Syriana

For Sci-Fis:

Independence Day (I think we all loved it but it gets forgotten by the critics)
In Time (Interesting concept if poorly acted)
SpaceBalls (of course)

Other than that:
Malcolm X
Chasing Amy
Eyes Wide Shut
Hook!
Casino doesnt get as much attention as it should either.

But those are all pretty well known.

I saw it when it came out and afterwards I didn’t feel it had been worth watching.  I thought it was slow, pretentious and unengaging.  A friend of mine was even harsher about the film: he said (sarcastically) that the film was an artistic triumph because only a cinematic genius like Kubrick could succeeed in making sex look so stupefyingly boring.

Syriana sucked IMO.  I saw it in theatres, a real downer.

I mean, sure it touches on some political realities, but meh overall.

Another underated film to add to my sci-fi list :)

“Vanilla Sky”

I thought this movie looked so stupid, until I had nothing better to do one day and watched it…

This really belongs on the Overrated thread, but since we are talking sci-fi here…

I really thought Event Horizon was a bit of a letdown. Previews I saw made it look cooler than it turned out to be, though it wasn’t the most awful film ever, by far. Worth watching if you are into sci-fi/horror.

I dug “Serenity” and the show “Firefly.”

Also, talkng about Young Grasshoppers 333, I liked “The Hidden”, watch that one when you get a chance…and I finally saw “Dead Snow”  Awesome!

Oh, I have one! Not Sci-fi, but definitely underrated: The Eagle Has Landed.

Michael Cain, Robert Duvall, Donald Sutherland, Donald Pleasence… fictional WWII plot to kidnap Winston Churchill. Not extremely popular but I think it is great.

You saw the theatrical release where the studio edited out most of the sex, eh? Yeah that would be a bummer.

Ironic how the ratings system ruined Kubric’s film in the name of decency while simultaneously increasing children’s access to an adult film.
