Triple A has had time to work out bugs/kinks, as well as having all game versions.
To me, the # of games available + the AI are most important.
Renegade Game Studios Expands Licensing Partnership with Hasbro Gaming Classics posted at BGG and Renegade Studios website.
Perhaps we will see some beloved reprints and some new material for A&A.
“We are excited to work with Renegade Game Studios on these iconic Hasbro strategy games starting in 2023. We hope that fans will look forward to adding to their collection new battles and themes for the Axis & Allies brand, expanding on its 41-year history,” said Jess Richardson, VP, Global Toy & Game, Licensed Consumer Products at Hasbro.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Exciting news!
Hasbro never reached out, no surprise but Renegade also did not reach out. They’re building an new A&A website. Hmm. Hopefully we survive this.
@djensen why wouldn’t we?

yea, if anything, it’ll bring in more people. Those that aren’t aware of this place and are made aware of A&A through the above future site(s) and enjoy it, will eventually find their way here.
As long as triplea keeps cranking, you’ve got an Ace in the Hole, because all the League Players use it, which is probably half the traffic here.
This is a good thing. Unfortunate they didn’t respond, but whatever to them lol
Happy Thoughts and Merry Christmas :)
Playing devil’s advocate, the front page article references something from mid-2019. Perhaps if you posted an update, referencing what Renegade has announced, it might garner a bit more attention? ;)
@reloader-1 Yeah, true. There just isn’t that much news in the A&A world for long stretches of time.
I went back and looked at their press release and website and they are all termed as the “possible” licensing of A&A to Renegade. This was in October. I bet the Renegade lawyers got to look at the books, and well… maybe not such a hot idea after all…
We shall see.
I will note, Renegade doesn’t make any games with plastic units. That would seem to be a pretty big hurdle to me to taking on A&A. At this point, maybe that is just fire and forget for the old stuff as its all subcontracted to China, which has all the old molds and production down pat. But anything new, and easy to see renegade losing its shirt.
Concerning news in the Axis & Allies World - we’ve contacted Renegade as part of introducing the Axis & Allies Global 1940 & 1943 House Rules Expansions.
Renegade has replied with interest.
We’ll see what happens next.
Captain
@karl7 Well, Renegade already does GI Joe, Transformers, and My Little Pony for Hasbro. A&A should be “easy.”
Maybe there’s acquisition talks? (Now, I’m just starting unfounded rumors, lol).

That’s OK A Blue Heart for referencing “My Little Pony” :)

Yeah, I know nothing other than that the press release etc were careful to note they “were in talks”… nothing certain.
But deals take time, so maybe it’s just hammering them out. I suspect A&A is probably one of the more top heaving franchises in terms of production, especially the 1940 games. So maybe renegade is just being careful? LOL.
You are right, though, they do make minis… I was wrong on that.

Wait, what? Who?
Also, how did you get in contact with them? They seem to be ignoring me – granted I am going through BGG and social media, maybe not the best approach.

I wouldn’t say they don’t make ANY games with plastic “units”. There are at least three;
Dead Men Tell No Tales
My Fathers Work
Power Rangers Heroes of the Grid
And it looks like maybe their GI Joe game may have some in there …
Admittedly not in the hundreds of pieces like A&A, but they are highly detailed molded miniatures (including a fancy separate miniatures pack upgrade for DMTNT).
TBH, for a publisher the size of Renegade, they’d have zero issues dealing with plastic minis. If a small time publisher like me can manage without any hurdles (if I could get the funding that is), they can as well. COST would be something that they’d have to factor in but that’s beyond our knowledge as we have no idea how well capitalized they may be or what their risk tolerance is.
Hi Dave,
We contacted Renegade by e-mail - through their website.
A Renegade employee responded positively each time within 48 hours.

Yeah, that ship has sailed. You can already pre-order Axis & Allies 1941, 1942 and 1940 from several vendors with Renegade Games as the publisher, release date of May 2023.
Noble Knight, Miniatures Market, and others. This is one of Renegade’s distributors:

A few changes and tweaks to the base lineup, box size and markers etc. Nothing massive.
nice!
I just added to the article some new, exciting, info:
Update: Renegade Game Studios is having a virtual conference, RenegadeCon Virtual, on February 3-4. On February 3, 2023 at 4:30pm PT, they will be making announcements on “what’s to come for Axis & Allies.”
