@SuperbattleshipYamato I like the ideas/rules you mentioned. I will follow through on triple a.

In Southern France, Germany has 2 Infantry units, 1 AAA unit (NCM from France).
The Minor Industrial Complex and the Naval Base are both intact.During NCM, 1 Air Transport unit moved from Libya to Yugoslavia with 1 Panzer General.
And the Air Transport unit in Yugoslavia moved to Rostov with 1 Infantry unit.Waffen-SS Paratrooper units and regular Paratrooper units moved on their own during NCM.

When an Infantry unit defends “inside” an Atlantic Wall Fortress (Bunker), the defense factor is increased to “3” for this Infantry unit.Only a number of Bunkers equal to (or less) the number of Infantry units can occupy that territory.

The idea about printing the IPC Value Markers directly on the map is good.Remember:
The original IPC value printed on the OOB map is must still be visible, concerning Convoy Disruption.Also, the increased IPC values in the Pacific do not change the original National Income for each Nation involved.
Only when an Island is captured - or re-captured - does the Increased IPC Value count towards the National Income Level. -
@general-6-stars
Concerning Air & Naval Bases printed on the map: Damage Markers are used when they are damaged.When they are destroyed by the owner to prevent them from falling into enemy hands, they are removed from the game board.
If printed on the map, they could ofcourse be covered or marked when they are destroyed.

@the-captain
I love this! I want to play a game of 1943 but I have no idea what strategies to use. I could use this as a starting point for developing some strategiesBy the way, will there ever be a strategy guide for the 1943 setup as well?
-
Well just play and learn. He did post a turn one in above pics for some countries. Ill be setting up 43 this weekend on BBR map.
Then see how play goes. -
@victoryfirst
First you should contact Cornelis Post on this forum. He (and beserker) is playing with the Axis & Allies Global 1940 House Rules Expansion - and the Axis & Allies Global 1943 House Rules Expansion - and live in Holland.You can see his Game Report on this thread also.
Cornelis & beserker are coming to Denmark - again - in December to play with us:muscle: for 4 days.

@victoryfirst I can offer no advice on what to do but I can recommend not doing what I did G1 and push the attack on the Eastern Front only to have a communist counterattack slaughter 80% of the Waffen SS
:grin:
-
Ouch. I’ll bear that in mind.

@barnee
Well, a few months ago I set up the game, just to see how it looks. Then, I did a G1 and R1 for fun. I pulled a bit back as the Germans, but not enough! The Russians were able to freely move a large part of their army into Bryansk with no risk of being destroyed. The smaller German army in Rostov was almost encircled and guaranteed to be destroyed. On top of that, the territories of W Ukr and Ukr were going to be taken with no good defences being available for the Germans. So, the Germans lost their entire foothold and army in the south and the Russians threatened to push further, so I ended the game there. I wanted to have a bit more experience in the 1940 game before I move to 1943! -
@victoryfirst heh heh yea The Captain’s latest 43 game report is sweet how he did his withdrawal and consolidated on E Front
Edit
I doubt adolf woulda approved but hey … better to ask for forgiveness than permission right :) -

@barnee
The German Army did not retreat on the Eastern Front - it was merely a Re-group Movement - to shorten the frontlines.The German plan for the Late 1943 Summer Offensive on the Eastern Front will bring the initiative back to the Germans.
All Waffen-SS Armies are fully equipped, 1st and 2nd Panzer Armies are operating at full strength - and 3 German Army Groups are intact and ready to fight some of the most decisive battles of World War II.
The plan is to trap the Soviet Armies should they advance on the Eastern Front - and simply wear them out by continuous attacks from multiple directions.
Remember that the German War Economy at this time of the War is extremely powerful, compared to that of the Soviet Union.
Wait and see…:relaxed:

@the-captain hee hee I knew you could sell it to hitler. I thought calling it a withdrawal might meet his approval but your approach way better :)
-
Definitely, as your “regrouping” was a withdrawal of units from lands hard gained from Case Blue last year. Totally not a retreat.
All in German.
-
Are you retreating? I said you will be shot if you even zhink about retreating!
Mein Führer! Zhis is not an retreat, but merely ein regroup!
Oh… zhen it is alright.
