Gen Con 2019 (Aug. 1-4)

For the 7th year (not in a row), I will be attending Gen Con. If you’ve never been, it is an awesome 4 (really 3.5) days of gaming nearly around the clock. Greg Smorey (@smo63) puts on some really great events:

• Master’s invitational (AA50)
• AA50 Tournament
• 1942SE Tournament
• Classic Tournament
• Global Tournament
• 1914 Tournament
• Zombies Tournament
• War at Sea League
• Other games such at Black Orchestra
• Pick up games of anything that’s played as a tournament

I was chatting with @Karl7 and he thought it would be fun to get a group together and send a contingent from A&A .org. There are already a few folks that are active (or lurk) around here but let’s try to get a few more.

I’ve already secured housing for myself but maybe a group can get together and rent a house for a reasonable rate.

I might be interested. I talked to Karl7 about it also. I will be going to the bloodbath in September in Orange county. You thinking about going?

@Corpo24 Possibly. September is too far out for me at the moment.

Gen Con is a ton of fun, definitely worth attending. There’s a dew direct flights to Indy now. Southwest has direct from OAK to IND.

My plans for this summer have changed dramatically, and I was wondering if Greg still has any seats open for Gen Con or Origins. I don’t particularly mind playing any game (I can bring my own setup for just about all of them), as long as it’s A&A.

Event registration for Gen Con started on Sunday so you still have time to sign up.

@DoManMacgee The tournaments don’t usually sell out. Well, maybe the Anniversary Edition. The bigger issue is when will Gen Con sell out? Two years ago it sold out mid-late July and last year it sold out earlier.

I’d get your Gen Con tickets first.

Zombie First Day are sold out I bought in Friday 1400H. 4 day Badges are likely to sell out as the total attendee cap has been reached as a practical matter ~62000

Yeah, they sold out 2 years ago too. I got the “near sellout” email from gencon.

Hi all,

The family and I are going to GenCon this year… Just got the bug up the butt to go and got our tickets… I was also able to get the last Global 42 tournament ticket… Anyone out there willing to play Global 42 with me to practice before GenCon. Been a while since I been on here so I have to find AAA and get back into the routine of it all… Looking forward to seeing you at GenCon
