@axis-dominion Almost done with these combats, but question for you in the SZ 111 battle. It’s round 1, I’ve damaged your Battleship and have 1 more hit from a plane. Do you want to lose the Destroyer? I do still have two attacking subs. Your units, save the submarine, haven’t rolled yet, so they might not survive anyway. Wanted to check though.

@oysteilo Many thanks Oysteilo. You were a very strong opponent. Very good game Sir!!!
I think there were many things that didn’t go well in this game. G1 is perfect I would say. I expected you would do a G1, but I did not expect J1. It would have been better to buy 9 inf and 1 fighter russia 1 and have all planes in Moscow.
J1 is close to a disaster for me, it is a perfect result for japan. Yes, I probably should have stacked Yuannan round 1, but I played it out in low luck and both china and UK are completely crippled even with an average result. Some Russian planes would have been nice. But all in all stacking is probably the right play. If you do attack it I am compensated at sea with USA, makes life easier there. So yeah, I should have stacked.
Then J2 is as ridiculous as J1, with well below avarage on defending hits. This puts Japan in a superstrong position.
Then on round 3 i realize I need to do something because you have all your moves planned out, its like playing chess and haveing black and white is just doing computer moves. So I decide to toss things up a little bit by attacking the neutrals. My rationale is it requires substantially less investments in europe than a normal campaign. Maybe this is wrong I don’t know. I am still surprised how litte impact this had on germany on the eastern front when you have like almost 100 german units in western europe. Then the korea/manchuria attack is just bs and has no impact on japan. I am better off just defending my territory given my neutral attack. Then off course when the russian 2 aa and 11 inf score one hit it does not improve my position either
And it is so expensive for the allies to challange islands in the pacific when transports are single use. I am not sure how to go about that

@oysteilo The keys of the game are in strategy in my view.
The germans were able to stack at both eastern and western borders with lots of land because they did not buy a single plane nor ship during the first dozen of rounds. They are able to do so if their purchases are consistently land but you need to look long term on that strat since the very beginning. In that balance helped a lot that the russians declared war to Japs and Japs were able to control a lot of russian economy because I did not need so many germans in Eastern Front. The long term view in the units needed in that front (large amount of mechs) was key to avoid you unifying your middle east army with the russians and fight together. I had the amount needed on due time, anticipating purchases 10 rounds.
A very relevant strat key was Spain battle. Neutrals is ussually a bad decision vs me when I am playing this strategy, because for this german play the only way I can control Gib is crossing Spain and that gives me an easy and stable way of doing it. Once I controlled it, it was a matter of time because your armies were splitted with no solution from there and I could just play increasing Bombers in between instead with the only decision to make on which side to smash and with which % to win that battle. On the other hand you could not reinforce all your fronts affected by those bombers with the same amount of money. Spain battle conclusion released a lot of my western mechs that were bought with that purpose of fighting in Spain first and after reaching Moscow fast while Bombers would both defend western and med coasts and increase Power for Sea Lion, Moscow fall and Middle East. 5 targets at the same time with 1 purchase.
Conclusion of all the statements above is if allies don’t unify armies from a certain point, they have no chance as Axis purchases are much more efficient and I was driving for that situation with more anticipation in my view.
Bombers + Gib for Germany is definitive because a lot of land is released from Rome and other coasts defense + Bombers cover 5/6 targets at the same time with 1 purchase.
Finally, americans should have fought more in eastern russia I believe, and yes, not stacking Yunnan helped Japan but also the way the russians attacked Japan and got trapped.
Hope it helps, not a lot of people share strat here.
