Got a pleasant surprise when I captured Rome. Because it was left undefended, I entered it during the combat movement phase and received the capital Treasury before my purchase phase. Thus allowing me to use the 28 PU to buy more units this turn. Which was particularly helpful because R will likely capture my capital this round and would have taken Italy’s treasury from me if I had not been able to spend it this round.
-
@fmerwinrommel oh… :-o. That was actually the plan… damn
-
I went for Mars first before Rome, because the French army there had a powerful offense, which could have taken northern Italy from me, if I had gone south first. Italy had 14 trenches and mostly infantry. I should have turned back to Italy sooner, as Italy and France together were putting 10 units per turn into Latium. But Turkey collapsed so quickly, that I built units in Hungary and Belgrade before Italy. Just going defensive in the east would have held off R for a while longer, but without a breakthru in Italy, it was just prolonging the inevitable. The income didn’t match what UK & R are getting from conquering T, so it wasn’t a game changer. But I just wanted to show that I could breakout into southern France and take out Italy.

Yeah, this is a long known bug/issue with TripleA. Many people house rule that you can’t spend it the same turn that or most players know about it and just make sure to leave 1 unit there.
-
@redrum ah, so it is a bug, not a feature… then: Mr Rommel: “I want my money back!” :-p
-
@elrood too late: seen it , pinched it , spent it!

Well just unspend the 28 IPCs and put them back into your cash account. We did not even spend money on itas turn expecting for russia to get it right after
-
Is it churlish to worry about this when the Entente are so close to victory?
Perhaps not. Either Austria should not have been able to spend the money. @redrum describes this as a bug and I guess that everyone except him was taken by surprise?
Or even if we by some strange logic decided that Austria should have the money, then Italy would have spent everything it could rather than banked it, meaning we need to make some edits.
However, if the CPs disagree I guess we should be sporting about it. @redrum is on our side and was party to the plan intending to pass the money to Russia via Vienna’s bank, so we have no excuse for not knowing. If only he had told us!
-
@private-panic Well Ron could not have known that france planned to leave not one behind
-
@elrood Nor did he tell us of the need to do so Seb. But I would hope that the CPs will have a chat and make a sensible decision. We should be willing to be sporting. I am certain that they will also be willing to be so. :slightly_smiling_face:
-
@private-panic I know what you mean, but a bug is a bug is a bug. And should not be exploited. Only because your team is winning you will not let the offside, or hand play slide to be a good sport, would you?
-
@elrood My last reply specifically addresses your point I think Seb. We now need to give the CPs a chance to have a chat.
