    Why not stay in Carolines? You can’t be attacked at advantage. Especially if he is focused on India. You attack 3 DEI islands + Philippines + Tokyo and Korea. Forces him to decide what is important.


  • Yes, you might be right about it.

    The fleet is still a bit unstable/underpowered, even on defence. I haven’t calculated, but think that the JN can smash it, so need a blocker. My reason for z54 was simply to save the aussie des, but maybe it’s worth it?

    I feel though that the USN doesn’t pose much threat at all. Everything is easily defendable. And when UK-Pac evacuates Calcutta, there’s no reason to shift over much fleet to the west anyway.


  • @trulpen I think it still makes more sense to split the air placed in the US (1-2 in WUS).

    Your threat to 6 (the fleet + 6-8 air) is pretty significant and he would have to pull fleet back to 6 to build navy there and bring air with them. He then would need to move air back to the carriers in 36 or at least place a blocker. And if you pull the UK fleet around and have the 6 UK air in range, he has to do more to protect that fleet in 39. And if he wants the money islands he needs to send 2 transports out.

    All of this means that his threat to India will be reduced and a subsequent effort to stack it might have a more significant cost to his air.

    If you are in 54, he doesn’t have to protect 6 to build there, and he doesn’t need to protect 36 and he can just move most of the fleet with the transport to Java, protect that transport, continue to threaten India. Blockers should be used sparingly, but I think this might be one of those situations where it is worth it.

    I’m not sure you need to attack both right now. You could just stack Hunan and maybe hit the inf in Kwangsi with a fighter and 2 inf.

    I want to get rid of as many japanese land units as possible in the north.

    For China, I’d prefer to attack Shensi as you did, but ignore Kwangsi. If India was still in the game, then do it so you could grab Kwangtung for UK. But now that money will not go to Allies. And the 3 inf will be eliminated by FIC

    Better, IMHO is to move all north to Kweichow, and threaten interior forces that he can’t replace easily. Allow you to roam easily for 2-3 turns

  • I don’t think either Gibraltar, Morocco or Cairo is at risk here.

    I will not waste 2 mech by sending them to Calcutta, since I decided not to stack there. The retreat to W India will keep J occupied with Calcutta for a while longer and UK will push in reinforcements.

    Decided also not to block an attack on Persia, but the french des may be used for that purpose. Unless it’s sunk by an italian bomber.

    Anyway, I think that a japanese attack on Persia at this stage is very premature. UK will easily take back the factory and sink any fleet that dare to enter z80.

    Looking at situation, Germany has low income. Pressure on Norway while making sure to get fighters into Moscow should do the trick here. For as long as Russia gets Scandinavian income + US direct threat in Norway, the redirection of Germans to Middle East should be manageable.
