@Combat:
look at Websites that print vinyl banners. You can get them as low as $50. I printed my map using cheapbanners.com
Thanks… I’ll check it out.
<snip of=“” all=“” the=“” quotes=“”>Although posted as a PROJECT SUPPORT PRE-ORDER, Field Marshal Games has continued to support the idea that these Italian forces were in production and near to being completed. I will await one more month in good faith however after that I will seek a full refund, not through PAYPAL but through small claims court if need be. I’m sorry Jeremy but after reading all the excuses I can’t help but think that we are being led astray a bit. Whatever came of your supposed trip to the factory? And, after all this you still choose to deal with this company? Also why in the world are you already working on USA when the Italians aren’t yet done? Something really smells fishy here.</snip>
And this is precisely why companies do not do community based projects and never give out any pre-release information or allow any pre-production input.
Believe me, FMG is as frustrated as anyone at the delays that are out of their hands. Why continue to deal with this company? Because of the massive investment already made that would be LOST 100% if they cut it off now. Investment that nobody can afford to lose!
And the US sculpts are being worked on because, as previously shown, the German sculpts are already completed (and sent off to produce the mould), so WHY on earth would anyone want him to hold off and wait, wait, wait some more when continued sets can come out faster by being prepared earlier?
No you didn’t just quote Kenny Rogers! LOL , WOW!!!
If it weren’t for FMG this likely wouldn’t have happened at all. I for one am THANKFUL to have these guys doing all this legwork and putting up with all the ney-sayers and production BS that I don’t have the time to. These guys sacrificed a LOT to get this going in time and energy as well as I am certain personal funds. Being a part of this is equivalent to being part of an IPO, also an American concept.
A few years back, I wanted a certain car that was a special production vehicle - were there unexpected delays? Of course. Factory re-tooling, parts back-orders, etc. Was it worth it the day I drove it off the lot and stepped on the gas? You better believe it!! :-D
The point is, we all made a choice to bet on these guys and the product they’re putting together for people like us - I’ve waited 15 years for custom A&A pieces so a few months is painless - I am confident that the other nations will move MUCH faster once the bugs are worked out and the money is rolling in - that’s business. Sorry you’ve lost patience dude…hang in there and I’m sure it will all be worth it.
So you are saying it’s better to lose the whole investment than to save half of it? Only a few countries have been sculpted now, it’s going to take years at this rate, and that would be a bust!
I’m holding for another four weeks but after that I will expect a FULL refund for a product not delivered. That is my right, I live in America you know. :)
No, it’s better to KEEP the whole investment. And it will most certainly not take years. The hurdle is the first set, as evidenced by FMG actually COMMUNICATING with people (Other companies that you would invest in a pre-order of this kind are more likely to say “Thank you for the money, now … when it’s ready we’ll let you know.”).
As you can plainly see yourself, with Germany and the US sculpts already complete/near completion your comment about how long it’s going to take to finish this project is fallacious at best. Italy has been a hurdle. Once those hurdles have been overcome, everything else is a breeze.
And, honestly, can you have the “right” to a full refund for a product not delivered when no delivery date was promised? They WILL deliver them as soon as they are here. He’s stated quite specifically that the first batch of Italian units will be AIR MAILED (rather than the slow and ponderous Sea freight) and sent immediately to the pre-order customers. Yes, numerous potential completion dates have been given … but only based on what FMG has been told themselves.
Why don’t people just wait for these pieces?
They take time to produce just the perfect set. WOTC can’t do it and they are a huge company that basically messes up every game they produce.
FMG has always stood by a philosophy of not releasing stuff till its perfect, while WOTC makes games they push out the front door without playtest or the wrong pieces, or some other screw up.
Instead of getting a refund, order more sets and buy them as Xmas gifts…You people have to support them in any way you can and just let them get the job done.
Once they mail out the pieces, it will be like gang busters and they will sell out quickly as all the other peeps start buying them up to make other games. Consider them an investment, much like AA50 was. How in the hell can a few measly bucks burn a hole in your pocket that you can’t wait for them?
They will sell out and you people will have to buy them for 3 times the money on ebay and remember this post. I warned you.
Hello Jeremy,
I am willing to substitute Stickman for one or two full set of Italian units at 29.95$ each. Just let me know how I can send you the $ by Paypal. Cheers

You got that right man! I for one am glad that I could participate in the Pre-Order. Okay, so yeah it is taking a while, longer than we first thought. However, the way I see it, I have already paid my money and now I just have to sit back and wait for them to get here. I find that very relaxing. Plus, the anticipation can almost be kind of a high. Then when they do eventually get here, I will just be plain giddy, as I’m sure many others will be as well. As for the money itself, I consider it already spent. In fact, it is kind of good that the Pre-Order was a while back because THAT money really no longer affects me. It’s not like I need that particular money to pay some bill or buy groceries, I’m making OTHER money to do that.
It’s like Jeremy said, this is an investment and I am very happy with it. And, as IL pointed out, all those slow-pokes and naysayers that think “Oh, I don’t need to pre-order. I’ll just wait till they come out and order them then.” may just be getting a nasty surprise. A lot of you will be sorely wanting for the new Italian units while those of us that pre-ordered, AND stuck with it, will be enjoying our new, highly detailed, historically accurate Italian combat pieces and combat dice for France and ANZAC. I’M STILL WITH YOU FMG!
the italians are one of the full sets i want from FMG since its one of the sets im willing to through out swap out. i have a question though. if you sell out of pieces will you continue to make more sets?
I have a completely unrelated question for Jeremy. Whenever the Italian units are ready, are those of us who participated in the pre-order investment still going to be able to order the German units as well? I know Germany is not in production yet but I remember form an earlier post you saying something about pre-ordering or ordering the Germans alongside the Italians. Thanks and I can’t wait for the Italians and those dice!

I’ll buy out Stickman’s order at $35.00 a set! :-D
Thanks Guys. You will have an opportunity to get your pre-orders in ONE LAST TIME, once I have the full set FINISHED PRODUCT in my hands (My set is first to come off the line!)
I am supposed to get the FINAL SAMPLES (actual completed product) for my final approval on Monday.
Thanks

Hi Jeremy,
Just a quick question to follow up on this. Do you mean that there will be a final opportunity to pre-order the Italians, or do you mean there will be an opportunity to pre-order the Germans (which is something dadler12 was asking about)? Thanks in advance for the info.

As soon as production is complete on the Italians I will open a pre-order. As for the Germans, given the trouble the Italy pre-order has caused us, I will not be opening that pre-order until the product is going into production.
very good idea.
i will be taking advantage of the preorder this time
Can’t wait to pre-order Germany and US multiple sets. Stick with it FMG I can see the finish line.
Question, this may have already been answered in the 100 plus previous posts. Is FMG goingto allow purchase of these sets after the first production run or is this a limited edition run for these sets.

All depends on Demand. If we sell out, we will make more.
