@avner Yes, the same problem occurred today… and it looks like it has been already solved.
Question about the first days of this forum

When politics was still allowed, why did you have a separate category from the general discussion to begin with? I don’t understand.

What are you talking about? There is no separate category - and IIRC there has never been one.

@guerrilla-guy said in Why politics are not allowed on this board:
…
axisandallies.org started with a general discussion board and a politics board. In the politics board, any topic was open for discussion and debate, and flames and baits were strictly enforced. I joined the moderating team in January 2006, and at the time, our political boards were already out of hand. Just about every single debate brought up by the first page had a flame. And not just from people who were expected to be trolls; those individuals would get banned rather quickly.
…Now what exactly don’t you understand? The development of forum categories by time?
I mean this forum started about 22 years ago. When setting up a forum you have an idea about categories to start with - and some sometimes will be adjusted, maybe because of the experience and insights you gain. It’s a process of learning.
Having said that…

… I still don’t understand your question, as I am afraid.
Or maybe the answer is as simple as “Why not?” -
I was just wondering what made politics special that they got their own subcategory when everything else was in general discussion.
