    Looks great,

    When do you have your final map version ready - with larger spaces for the crowded areas (such as Germany and other tty and sz that are crowded) etc.?

    We would like to print that map, when it’s ready - since it’s quite costly to print a new map.

    And also, eventually a rulebook would be needed, so that it would be easier to understand in depth and play the game - especially if new players would like to try it out.

    Been working a bit more on my Cold War map for a fellow aa member for his game. More of a starter map but not final. Don’t think a map is ever final. Lol

    The Allies won. Was a great game. Axis was on the brink to win each turn. With Axis at there peak strength at the time when game starts its balls out. Got 6 turns in.
    Germany got Moscow and Stalingrad and was able to hold Paris but Russia was able to take back Stalingrad from there Ural builds and Tankograd IC to help with allies victory.

    What hurt Germany most in game was he lost his fleet but main part was he lost a lot of his planes. But still was able to get Moscow with a good can opener Italians down through there southern route where they can only go through but forced Russia to put out 8 inf blockers in 2 territories around Moscow to delay the Germans a turn on a attack on Moscow if the Italians did try to take a territory in front or south of Moscow. SO now your looking at like 8-12 extra Inf that could of stayed in Moscow to defend on the main attack. Great moves there by axis.

    The allies did have a decent D-day landing going on but was just a bit short on liberating Paris. But was able to run around north to West Germany for attacks and also took Oslo away to deny a 1 victory point from axis which helped too.

    The allies did attack West Germany and Italians recaptured it back but the IC was destroyed in the 2 battles.
    On the Pacific side US ended up grabbing all the 3 Island group NO’s to build there income up and did attack the huge Japan fleet and defeated them. Japans income went way down based on they also lost the oil money islands and had no navy left.

    UK navy left the Italians alone in Med and they were able to get the 3 3 island group NO’s plus all Med Island bonus point. But the UK Med fleet did help when it went to India and now its back in the Med. Couple transport buys would of taken away some of the 3 island group NO’s for Italy and also axis would of lost the 1 point all Med island Victory point in the next turn for UK.

    Its nice to see in the game a Strong Italy. This game they can be strong based on with the right leadership and besides in other games nobody wants to play Italy or Russia but as you see only Game I know of where Russia can also still fight after losing Moscow. Nobody really knows what would of happened if Moscow fell in real war. But some may disagree but where here not to discuss that.

    The 2 move Cruiser worked out great so we keep that. A CCP setup change and a build tweak is all that’s gonna get changed.

    Here’s the charts after turn 6. Each country rolls for 2 National Advantages at start of game and uses for the whole game. Was only 4 techs this game and no spy’s stole any.
    The 2 tech chart was great. At least you get to choose one or the other.

    Edit : The Germans control Leningrad so roundel is wrong on chart, but still have only 27 points. Axis needs 30 points at end of any turn for a victory.

    Justin played Germany and did one heck of a great job at it. I played the US East and UK and had a hell of a time dealing with all the subs Germany and Italy had. I had to deal with about 33 subs in all in the Atlantic… Talk about a lot of fun–not. Justin put up with my many mistakes like with Tactical bombers being a 6 then a 4 and then a 3 for taking out subs. Many a time Justin had to correct me with my rolls and he was very patient each time. I could have done a lot better in the Mediterranean and was too focused on Europe proper but it all worked out. Italy ran rampant in the med but did not even try to take Cairo. Problem was Justin had a lot on his plate with Germany and Italy so it worked out the way it did. Thank you all… Had a great game but I am so sore from all the up and down. LOL

    If you are in the Milwaukee area and would like to learn how to play this version – Like I am… Talk to the General and see if you can get an invite and come!!

    Yes and if Justin had at least 3-6 planes he didn’t lose early probably would of held Stalingrad. Keep in mind Russia didn’t get all there LL based on NAs so Moscow probably was the good plan with Italy’s help and also based on NA allies didn’t have joint strike and with a few more Ger sub buys hold off that 1 extra D-Day landing. So can go for Moscow based on that too. But did the extra sub buys
    Cost Germany a few more tank or mech art buys to hold Stalingrad.

    Or does Ger buy less subs and also Italy don’t buy those 4 subs and Germany uses Italy’s NA puppet state LL and get Cairo ? I know what I would do but I’m a bit more familiar with seeing options based on probably more German play.
    But hey I could be wrong too.

    So NAs will dictate what your best options are and are not. Plus Germany had Heavy Artillery tech turn 1 which he did use on my KVs d@8 being targeted early in Moscow battle.

    Yes with a strong italy would it been better to not get or go for 1 or 2 island group NO bonus money and focus more a Cairo for the 2 points ?

    Hey but then u probably lose the 1 victory point for all Med islands but that’s only worth 1 victory point. So now what is the better option ?

    Got keep in mind is that axis is pretty much always sitting at 28-29 points and getting that 1 or 2 points which players have to keep in mind at all times wether I’m going to lose a point and focus more where can I get that 1 point for a win if you don’t get that 2 victory point based on not getting Stalingrad, Calcutta or Cairo.

    AAgamer. Here’s another option to help with getting a bit more in d day landing.
    When US drew there event card they received a free AC and 2 naval planes and place at San Fran. OK sweet ! You just saved 28 icps. Now I can focus more buy on on Europe side and get 2 trannys and 1 DD 1 Tac or 4 ships like 3 trannys 1 DD or 2 Tran and 2 DD for Ger subs or even 4 DD.

    Ha only next time will tell.

    Well it was interesting in that you said I should have 3 transports groups of 5 transports. I had 3 groups of 4 and could not have spent a single more ipc on them because I only had minimal air and minimal navy. If Germany would have had any more air he could have destroyed the fleet. So I don’t know where and or HOW I was going to get MORE to Europe than I already had. I was getting about 40-50 a turn from Ryan and 80 on like turn 4. I am curious on how you would go about getting 3 groups of 5 trans, navy, air and ground units?? The ipcs to do so just aren’t there. Unless you abandon the Pacific and you don’t want that to happen either. You just can’t have it both ways. Just saying.


  • 3 more transports is 21 icps. Couple bombers from pacific. Your 40 -50 goes to 50-60.
    Sometimes best to not attack German fleet.

    Keep in mind first time u played on that side.
    You can get away with another 80 on a turn.
    If US had more money then one side will get even more and then one axis wins all the time.
    Goal is to make US split there money more evenly but still spend a bit more on one side but not for every turn.

    Yup, understand it was only 21 ipcs… But it doesnt allow the USA to have any type of air force that it actually had in the war. I mean I couldn’t even think of having a bombing force or a large navy. USA is really cash strapped. I understand you are trying to balance the game the problem I have is that Germany is so large numbers wise in comparison to actual history compared to the USA and the UK.
