Thanks for this great idea and design, I have printed and laminated them all to use with our next game!
Looks like you’ve arrived at the correct answer. I have to admit, though, that I’m a little disappointed that no one tried to prove the opposite point of view.
Here’s a nice, fat +1 for you Krieg. 200 looks a lot better than 199.
Made us work for that one, eh?

I’m not surprised
Because it’s incorrect :
K forgive me if this has already been answered….
If you to an amphib on a territory that only contains fighters and bombers, do the bombard shots hit the planes or can they only hit land units?
I believe that any land/air units can be chosen as casualties from shore bombardment (aside from AA Guns and ICs).
That’s correct.
if two AA guns belonging to different powers are in a territory, which of them fires? this would be important if one power had radar…
Either one may fire. It’s up to the owners to decide.
Either one may fire. It’s up to the owners to decide.
is that explicitly or implicitly stated anywhere in the rules?
The rules simply say that only one AA gun may fire at a time, regardless of how many there are in the territory or who controls them. There is nothing that specifies which AA gun fires, so the choice is up to the defenders.
okey doke. another AA gun question.
what happens to captured and then liberated AA guns? lets say italy moves their aa gun to france, and then france is captured by america, and then france is retaken by germany, does the AA gun revert back to italian control, or does it now belong to germany?
It belongs to Germany. Control of AA guns always transfers with control of the territory, except in one situation.
Say Germany has an AA gun in France, and the USSR captures Germany and the UK captures France. If Italy captures France from the UK, it gets to keep it and the AA gun, since Germany’s capital is held by the enemy. If Italy then liberates Germany, Germany gets France back, but Italy gets to keep the AA gun there. This is the only time that a territory can change hands without any AA guns in it changing hands along with it.
Thanks Krieghund, that’s a cool in-depth answer. I always got a bit confused on the AA Gun issue. Will this one be going in the '42 FAQ?
Maybe. It seems to get asked often enough.
I thought I knew the answer to this, but now I can’t find it in the rules, official FAQ, or even in this thread. So I want to ask -
Paratroopers - Can infantry be carried by bombers in non-combat (to a friendly territory, of course)? After all, page 12 of the rules says “Each of your bombers can act as a transport for up to one infantry”. (I don’t know how you transport less than 1 infantry, but anyway )
I was thinking this was a combat only maneuver, but like I said, I can’t find a definite answer anywhere.
No, you can’t. It’s in the FAQ.
Ah, there it is! It was just a one-liner and I must have overlooked it. I knew I read that once, but it had been a long time.
Thought I’d double check since I have about 9 heavy bombing paratrooper-enabled bombers!
Thanks again, Krieg! Your fast response time is much appreciated!!
I know china CAN control manchuria and/or kiangsu and use those countries towards china infantry units, but i was wondering if russia happens to take those countries first, does russia get the IPCs or do the countries revert back to china?
No other allied power can ever control any Chinese territory, ever. So Russia, USA, and UK can never gain IPC’s from China.
(Kwangtung is British, and Chinese can go there, but never control it)
Therefore, any IC that any Axis power builds in China (usually Japan) can never be used by any Allied power. Ever.
This raises an obscure question on my part, however.
What happens if an Allied power other than China captures an AA gun in China? AA guns are supposed to go to the country who owns the TT, so would China then control an AA gun? Seems to me they would.
I suppose China could capture an AA gun themselves. Yeah, I think I answered my own question. Funny, though, the creator of ABattlemap did not anticipate this because there’s no Chinese AA gun icon.
This hasn’t happened in my games yet, but it inevitably will.
