Hi Folks,
if I had to choose, I would always decide my self for the Pacific. I prefere the huge naval/air battles over the large clashes of tanks in Russia or the battle for the Atlantic. And with the scale of A&A, the engagements between the German Africa Corps and the British 8th Army are merely a sideshow.
Greetings,
Lars

I did like the split of income from Aus and India in AAP. I’m glad they kept that.
-
idk if anzac will even be able to AFFORD anything major…so I wouldnt worry to much about that.
-
Squire thanks for the pics of AA40P! When will we get a sneak peak of AA40E? These maps are huge. Boy talk about war gaming on a EPIC scale! I can’t wait till they come out.
-
He got the pictures for AAP40 because he was at Gen Con and kind enough to know how bad we need these.
I don’t think Larry will be at any convention before AAE40 shows up, so most likely we are dependent on WOTC,which has not even bothered to confirm that they even have either of these games even if one of them comes out in Christmas.
WOTC didn’t even mention AA50 until people complained over and over again.

WOW!! Thank you for making my day! +1
-
Convoy zones? I dont see any, and Pacific originated those……clarification?
-
They’re there. They’re just hard to see in the picture.

Not sure if the Netherlands roundel is correct.
See here:

You could interpret this either way, but I’d say the inverted orange triangle may be more correct, though in the East Indies they may not have got round to changing it before the Japanese attack!

Where are the map pictures???
-
its correct except its missing the yellow dot.

I can see them, just had to zoom in, dude
-
It isn’t missing the yellow dot, it’s just very small. And it’s (correctly) orange.
However I still think the balance of information suggests that it should be an inverted orange triangle.
Importantly, for the European map the Netherlands symbol should definitely be the triangle, and it would be untidy to have different Dutch insignia on each map.
I’m wondering how the Euro map will handle roundels; will they be 1939 or 1940? That is, will for example Denmark have a Danish roundel over which you place a German marker, or a German cross already in place? This is important when considering that many of us will want to use the map for pre-1940 scenarios, so I’d prefer 1939 symbols.

if we go with Larry on this and that map is a draft from before, there’s a whole bunch of money coming to China! wahoo!
Well, given the map, larry misspoke. The chinese terriotries controlled by the chinese at the begining of the game are only worth one IPC each. 16 IPCs though is till alot more than in the past.
given a jpg printed map or Larry’s words, i think it’s time to ask Krieg if he can elaborate on the facts. i’d be leaning towards Larry rather than a spec map, but who knows…? Krieg, that’s who!

I’m very busy working on Europe 1940. The map that Larry showed at GenCon was the final map for Pacific 1940. What you see is what you get.
-
You the man Krieg! Thanks for the info!!

Wikipedia is not always accurate. I admire the attempt with the citations and sources and all that schollarly stuff, but there are bound to be things on wiki that cantradict itself along with reality.
Btw, the New Zealand roundel…dude, is that a Kiwi Bird?! Man, I know you learn something new every day, but that’s just awesome!!! My new favorate military organization is now the New Zealand Airforce! :-D

AND while there is still the opportunity for 3 factories, the factories in Malaya and Indo-China are seperated by 2 territories before they get to India (however, if japan gets to india, they could put down one of those 10 producing factories… so this might all be for nothing). .
Actually, I think this better for UK. UK is based out of India in Pacific, and has enough turns to actually build a factory (if they don’t start with one) and crank out tons of units.
-
Can Hawaii be worth 2 ipcs so that we can put a minor factory there pretty pretty please

Sorry, you can’t build IC’s on islands, with the exception of Japan and the UK.
