  • @farmboy I redid the ncms, and reposted. It rolled a second set of dice for convoy which I still need to adjust (I lost one more the second time around). I believe I have all the victory cities in Europe but you can retake London. I think I am in a position though to hold it once I take it again.

    Result posted. Yes I could reland on UK but you could and should sink my fleet for my trouble. The setback is too major to overcome even if I could hold London. I actually thought you could land on London a couple of rounds ago but there was nothing I could really do about it so I just had to hope that you didn’t.

    I was thinking that without you taking London the Axis weren’t looking that hot in spite of a great relative economy. Seemed that liberating Moscow was on the cards and bashing through into the Balkans was also looking likely. Japan was too strong for the investment by USA in the Pacific.

  • @simon33 I could have set myself for odds on London in the high 90s (if you maxed the defense)a couple of turns earlier. But I was fairly sure I could get better odds and so decided to wait. I misjudged that I think but then I had the opening here. And you are right. If I wasn’t able to take London, you were well set up to come back. I wasn’t expecting you to leave London open here, and thought my best chance at a win was to just get the economic upper hand and grind out a win. Good game! That was some creative allied play and you really stalled the Germans after Moscow.

    I’ll be up for a rematch but maybe not quite yet. I’m about to start another with Andrew and I offered a game to Adam once I finished the two I was playing. So if he is still available it will have to wait until after. I’m trying to stick to a limit of two games.

    You are right that I should have attacked Germany more. I also didn’t worry enough about some of the national objectives like Carolines and Iwo Jima/Okinawa. The Carolines objective is great because it prevents a landing spot for planes coming from The Philippines.

    I still don’t know that I have the Europe/Pacific balance right as USA.
