@Polishpowerhouse you’re welcome. Glad it helped
J2 attack
-
Japan attack on mainland America. Thoughts?
-
Which game-edition are you talking about? I will - again - move the topic to the correct category, then.
The “Website/Forum discussion”-category is -as it says -about the website or the forum itself.
Please learn to post in the correct forum category. As you can easily see we have dedicated categories for every A&A-edition. Thank you. :slightly_smiling_face:

@panther g40 se thanks (:
-
@panther I’ll make sure to indicate the game in future, cheers

Thoughts? Bad idea.
How are you getting there? I guess you are doing a J1 attack on Pearly Harbour. Why? Only 1 TT can reach there J2, it can be easily defended by USA. Totally relies on USA moving every unit out of the way to allow it.
Hopefully not too harsh there.
-
@simon33 not harsh at all. Just trying to think of a way the axis can knock of the states, if possible.
Thank you for your answer -
You pass through the American fleet at peace, then take the canal. Then you join the Germans on the other board.
Then you go on to lose in a blaze of glory.
-
@taamvan that is epic! Thanks!
-
@taamvan I think I’ll start playing global 1936 as it’s not so US centred
-
This is a move that takes up insane amounts of resources, cannot be helped by Japan’s allies, and has a high chance of losing. Just let the US bleed itself white counterattacking you. Keeping your fleet in safe positions is key, and this idea goes way out of position.
-
You’re wrong, Japan’s allies can help. They open the canal and japan can move through. It’s not a game winning move, but it does work and its difficult to stop.
-
Italy can’t do anything, and I doubt Germany can assemble a force large enough whilst pressured by the Soviet Union and the UK to capture it.
-
Only UK can move to stop it, and most players will assume that when Germany goes to gibraltar they have some plan to attack UK, not pin down the USA. Most of the setup occurs at peace so there is nothing the Allies can do about it unless they fortify the canal. Italy can indeed help, they take gibraltar on I1 and follow the Germans.
There is actually another completely different way to stymy the US with the Axis va a northern route. Neither of these plans are foolproof and requires perfect coordination as only 1-2 things going wrong cause the whole gambit to collapse.
And both are good ways to lose the game to Russia Rampaunt.
Keep in mind the OP was “Japan Attack America How” not “How to win by conquering the US first”
-
You said it yourself-it’s hard to pull off and the Soviets will crash hard into the Axis. I still think it’s hard for this reason:
Japan can never assemble enough troops to land anywhere and succeed (or at least land on the West Coast), because Japan has to spend 7 more IPCs for every two units than the Americans. The Americans also have a home ground advantage, so more turns of builds would reach the front in time. Then there’s the problem of the US making more IPCs than Japan.
Italy can easily be blocked from Gibraltar on the first turn by having sea zones 96 and 95 attacked, and having at least one ship present in each zone.
Anyways, I do sometimes dream of a stupid US doing a KJF and letting Germany land on the East Coast, sacking the US the turn they enter the war.
