    Looks good. Two suggestions. 1) put the bomber in scotland so that you have the option of reaching Moscow. 2) you left an inf on a transport in 33. Not a big deal but I would leave it on the island.

    That’s a good idea.

    The inf on the tr is actually intentional. It gives the option of being able to take an island with one unit and bring the other, thereby mildering the effect air-strikes taking out scarce land units.


  • I’m thinking that the fleet won’t stay by the Carolines.

    There are two alternatives. Either swing down to z54, which is safe and pressures the DEI, or, more aggressively clamp down on Iwo Jima as an outpost for attack against Korea or even Tokyo. The latter is usually not very practical and Japan has a pretty easy task of defending.

    Think it will be Outpost Australia.

  • Thinking about this, but we have alternatives.

    The attack on Kwangsi for instance, only using 2 inf and hoping for luck. Big risk of failure though. Or just skip that attack to maximize forces up north.

    I think the stack belongs in Kweichow.

    Using the SB on Gib is fine. I had suggested Scotland as the way to get it to Moscow but you have another turn to do so there is no urgency.

    For the US fleet, 54 is good in it saves you the ANZAC blocker and you can reach the islands and Malaya, but I would still probably stick with Caroline Islands in that it gives you the range to threaten his fleet in 36, and limit Japan spending. He doesn’t need to do much to stop it but I think this ties his fleet up there more and makes placement more difficult. It might be that the US fleet is too underpowered at the moment to really threaten that but if it can, that would be my suggestion.

    And I would also put some US air (From Hawaii) in Wake Island to give you a bit more range. But I would probably move some of the ANZAC subs and destroyer to 54 to give you some more range.

    I’m not sure you need to attack both right now. You could just stack Hunan and maybe hit the inf in Kwangsi with a fighter and 2 inf.

    to be clear, on limiting Japan spending, if you are on 54, then he can safely build 3 inf in FIC and new transports and fleet in 06 without having to worry about protecting those units. In Caroline Islands, if he wants more transports (to replace ones that he is going to lose), he either pulls fleet back to Japan or builds them in FIC.

    Why not stay in Carolines? You can’t be attacked at advantage. Especially if he is focused on India. You attack 3 DEI islands + Philippines + Tokyo and Korea. Forces him to decide what is important.


  • Yes, you might be right about it.

    The fleet is still a bit unstable/underpowered, even on defence. I haven’t calculated, but think that the JN can smash it, so need a blocker. My reason for z54 was simply to save the aussie des, but maybe it’s worth it?

    I feel though that the USN doesn’t pose much threat at all. Everything is easily defendable. And when UK-Pac evacuates Calcutta, there’s no reason to shift over much fleet to the west anyway.


  • @trulpen I think it still makes more sense to split the air placed in the US (1-2 in WUS).

    Your threat to 6 (the fleet + 6-8 air) is pretty significant and he would have to pull fleet back to 6 to build navy there and bring air with them. He then would need to move air back to the carriers in 36 or at least place a blocker. And if you pull the UK fleet around and have the 6 UK air in range, he has to do more to protect that fleet in 39. And if he wants the money islands he needs to send 2 transports out.

    All of this means that his threat to India will be reduced and a subsequent effort to stack it might have a more significant cost to his air.

    If you are in 54, he doesn’t have to protect 6 to build there, and he doesn’t need to protect 36 and he can just move most of the fleet with the transport to Java, protect that transport, continue to threaten India. Blockers should be used sparingly, but I think this might be one of those situations where it is worth it.
