Hello from Dallas,
I am a new member from Dallas as of yesterday.
Hello everyone. I’ve been reading here for years but have never posted. Started playing 1942 a few years ago with some buddies that have been playing since they were kids. Then we started playing global 1940, what a big difference. There are 5-6 of us that play on Monday nights when our golf league ends. Up here in northeastern Ohio, that means October-April. Love to read the posts and contemplate different strategies. Still learning a lot. We have about a dozen games of 1940 under our belts, and it still feels like we have a rules discussion every game, but I think we finally have them down. We are starting this year’s session tonight.
@Sebskullian-0 I am in Dallas.
@GeneralLeRoy Great and interesting post -
If you didn’t notice it, go down a few posts where I posted about the league - maybe 1 of your guys would be interested.
Plenty of G40 veterans there
It is really cool you moved on to G40 and like it.
And if you’re unsure of any rules, there is a thread dedicated to that here

@Sebskullian-0 I am in Dallas. I am ready to play. However, I am banned from Common Grounds.
Hello!
I am TANK78, (Also known as Владимиро in A&A 1942 online). I am from Arlington Texas (GO RANGERS), and have been playing Axis and allies for as long as I can remember. I am only 18, and I am by far the youngest person I (PERSONALLY) know that has even heard of the game, and struggle to find others to play with as a result. I own the Original game, the 1942 2nd edition, 1942 online, Europe and Pacific 1940, and just recently I got 1914, which I have yet to play. My favorite version is G40 which I used to play with house rules (China modernisation, Sweden, Vichy France, alternate turn order, etc. I drew my own roundels for Sweden and drew up my own turn order), but when I bought 1942 online, that has quickly became my favourite because of Larry Harris Gencon 3.0 setup making it the most balanced version I have played. I tend to play allies more than axis. I do not know how often I play, but I have played almost daily for many years, and when I got the online version on steam two months ago, I already have 180 hours on it. I would love to buy modifications and board pieces, but they get really expensive really fast. I look forward to meeting people that share the same sense of personal love for this game that I do!
@TANK78 Have you played online using Triple A?
Once you can do that, you can play individuals on this site, play by e-mail, or coolest of all, play in the league on this site.
@gamerman01 I recently downloaded triple A but the interface is a little goofy and I am trying to figure it out right now.
WELCOME!
I am curious about your online handle since, to me, it appears Russian yet you said you are from Texas. What does it mean and why did you pick it?
Global 1940 is also my favorite, yet AA50 is a close second.
Welcome and hope to see you in the League!
PS
Very sorry to hear you don’t know any other younger players who play. What a shame.
@AndrewAAGamer Владимиро (Vladimiro) is the name of one of the characters from a book I am writing that plays Axis and Allies (Or Duce A as it is called in the book)

indeed
@TANK78 is “vladamir o” the antangonist or the protaganist ?
@TANK78 Nice to meet you! I’m 18 too and definitely understand the whole getting people to play part lol. I’ve found that although it’s not a well known game for our age it definitely isn’t a not well liked once people learn.
@TinCanoftheSea Wow didn’t expect to see so many people my age here. Just turned 19 and it’s definitely cool to see young people playing this game.
@donutgold Oh yeah for sure, gotta keep this game going for years and years
@barnee My story is told from the perspective of many characters, with the intention to leave it up to the reader on rather they believe characters are “good” or “evil”. One chapter he is the protagonist in another the antagonist, just depends on who is the speaker in each chapter. On an alignment chart, I would say he is something between a Chaotic good and a Chaotic neutral, but take that with a grain of salt because characters are subjective.
@MAG okay. My email is camps0857@gmail.com if that would make easier to contact me.
@TANK78 Thanks for the reply
@TANK78 I have eight chapters of a book with Axis and
Allies as a theme.
Hi, I am Tom. I just found Axis and Allies. I will be combinging the 1940 Europe and Pacific games on a table to have the entire world. I am thinking of creating an overlay showing the 2023 war situation and maybe have a WW3 version of this game using the map.
I am looking forward to getting tools , printable A&A IPC’s, and editor for editing maps.
I will be playing via email/skype with family members and friends.
I look forward to discussions with you.
