    @JuanSpain:

    Yeah, when Rubi elaborated to put the pressure at the same time on Calc, Moscow and Greece, that was a key check to the king. When players are at so similar level, forcing a slight suboptimal decision can make the difference long term. Precisely because of that, I still believe that the apparently little step by that russian inf taking Korea first, helped a lot Japan long term, with a US factory there… Japan might not have resisted so long.

    Good call. I was actually planning to copy that move of landing on Amur as USA to then step on Korea but I’ve never had an occasion. Perhaps with the large number of transports in range and 10inf on Manchuria Me1945 figured that Japan could just crush a Korean outpost of 20 units easily the next turn?

    @Me1945:

    The only reason for opening neutrals was to bring air from India and thus save Moscow. Supporting Greec is just a side affect.
    I am still confused why Axis didn’t pick up to guys in Switzerland? Same happened with my games with you. Any dislikes between Spain and Swiss? :-)

    Ok, thanks.

    @Zhukov44:

    My read was the declaration on the neutrals was necessary to fly 4 extra fighters from India to Russia on Round 8, which reduced Germany’s G9 odds from pretty good to 50/50.  So it “worked” in the sense that Moscow never fell.

    This (holding onto Moscow a few more turns) is probably the best possible justification for declaring on neutrals in a game where its usually suboptimal to do so.  It’s hard to say for sure if it was the right move–there’s a lot of factors to that need to be taken into account.  It would have been tough for Allies to win if Russia had fallen G9 but it’s also tough to win after declaring on neutrals, especially if USA doesn’t have the resources to open a new front in the Iberian Peninsula.

    Congrats to Rubioton on the win and the title!

    Without looking at it in depth, that bolded bit is surprising given that Japan was on the back foot. I suppose it’s hard to do stuff under the dark sky of 13 bombers.

    I also must congratulate both players for reaching final and Rubi on the win.

    Neutral Swizerland stays neutral, forever!!! :mrgreen:

  • @Me1945:

    My congratulations. Will post your win shortly.

    Congratulations and thans for this game ME, it was very challenging for me the way you plot your strategy in the Pacific. At both sides of the map were two little things that gave fresh air to my strategy:

    -Round 4 the Amur conquer by the russian inf, that permitted the japanese army putting a lot of pressure in Yunnan forcing the allies spending a lot of resources in that area.

    -Round 5 when you took Greece sacrificing your fleet versus my italian navy that permitted germany sunk the ships remaining in
    Ger6. That gave the oportunity to the Ger/Ita ground troops to go for Moscow and Greece at the same time.

    As I said before you were a great opponent and did a great job

  • Of course, thanks for the congratulations you have given to us to all the people that followed the game and gave your view about the game.
