Air Base & Naval Bases (HBG, Shapeways?)

I am looking too. I really hate the cardboard markers for bases and factories. I use the old factories for majors but would like minors and the bases 3D. I know Shareways has them but IMO only the factories are affordable. The naval bases are in too large a batch for $100 +shipping + customs, etc… and I don’t think they have air bases?

I don’t like having a runway though because it takes up too much space. A control tower without a runway would be perfect. Hello Ebard? Hello Combat Miniatures? We need a control tower.

Thanks GHG, I missed those (they must not be tagged “Axis & Allies”). Yeah they would be too big. I think a hanger would be cool as to me that’s the key factor in an airbase that provides more tactical support beyond a runway and control tower.

HBG has some nice acrylic markers. They’re not vertical, but they are brightly colored and would stand out on the board.

Well, Combat Miniatures does have a “Watch Tower”, at 6 for $12, that could be re-purposed into a control tower for an airfield:

It’s not exactly what you asked for, but it’s available now and not too expensive at $2 per tower if you buy 6 or $3.50 per tower if you buy them in singletons.

Due to WiFi at my house I can’t work much on here to find it but I know in the customization section of the forum there is a guy from Canada who designed some you can look at that were priced well. It may be back a couple of pages but it was only earlier this year.

Sweet ! But need to make the tower look more like WW2 towers. Seems they had more windows and wood or brick impressions on sides of building. Your pic looks to new and smooth. Just saying Chief.
