It is Winter of 1942. You dealing with Snow and the Russian steppes!
It is snowing ,you have No support! It is a Face off. Wich Tank would you choose and how would you engage? -
The Stug with its low profile and longer(43 calibre) 75mm gun should win if visibility is ok, despite the snow. I would be happy to be hull down and engage from just over 1000m. I would hope to get off two shots before the T34 accelerated and used its 75 from 500-750m to better effect. I would hope I had the advantage with the extra crew member too.
If it got to close quarters, I realise we are probably dead.Wittmann got his first kills as a commander of a Stug in Greece and Russia.

It’s a close one. Stug has the range and is a smaller target with a better gun. T34 has maneuverability and isn’t limited by a fixed gun. But Stug edges it out with its more powerful gun

Stug III if I get off the first shot.
If the engagement is any longer than the first shot, give me the T-34.
By the way love the question.
