at first i thought USSR didn’t have enough money or navy and that i didn’t have enough sculpts. but for the sculpts we just use Japanese pieces. with their economy you have to use the bonuses that dannyboy2016 posted, because that way you make a TON of money. last game i made 225ipc on the third turn, but lost 7 due to convoy raids and rocket attacks.  but i agree with you about the lack of navy. also they should have more air power.

i dont think MacArthur is a good choice because of his disastrous defense of the Philippines. he left most of the equipment on the beaches where he lost horribly

if its the 1931 Chicago, then as marc described it, its really a coin toss. its so close. But if it is the Baltimore class Chicago, then she wins hands down. better fire control and armor/armament.

i dont think it would fair well. most cruisers could push 32+ knots, which was 3.5 knots faster than the Graf Spee. also her armor wasnt all that thick and most likely could be devastated by the barrage of incoming 8" shells. or 12" if we count the Alaska Class as crusiers, not battlecruisers. BTW Worsham, what do you consider to be the “best of the heavy cruisers”?

i like the first three us cruisers designed and build as treaty cruisers, the Pensacola class, the Northampton class, and the Portland class. these to me are beautiful ships, and represent the “best of the heavy cruisers”. they were treaty cruisers and fulfilled their roles beautifully. They packed a punch with 9-10 8"guns, 8 duel purpose 5" guns, and by 1944/5 they had a deadly AA gun compliment. plus the 5"/38 is considered to be the best duel purpose naval gun of the entire war. Their main battery was superb and they helped hold the line in the months after pearl. they were present from coal sea to the Doolittle raid. from midway to Guadalcanal. they were always there, both of the Pensacola class survived the war, the Indianapolis suffered a tragic loss in the closing months and the Northampton class lost half of their numbers. But IMO, they were the best…

True with the map,  and their was some funny parts with Bill Murray,  but overall I thought it was good

just saw it tonight. It was really good. I unfortunately didn’t get a chance to read the book before i watched the movie, but none the less, It was very good. I definitely recommend it.

Scharnhorst and company. Faster than the Howe and only .5 knots slower than the Cumberland. They had more heavy guns than the British ships and the both the armor on the battleships are similar. Tho the Cumberland is out matched here. The Germans can out maneuver the British battleship while suppressing the Cumberland so she cant get in range with her smaller guns. The Germans have a slightly faster rate of fire and better optical equipment, but the British have radar, so that’s a toss up. I have to go with the Germans for this one.
