Now that we got intel on the new 1941 games pieces, the question becomes how to use them.
Most people are buying the game for these new pieces, so will you just throw them in for extra pieces or make up nifty rules for them to modify your games?
Here is the current list of sculpts:
Allied Tank = USSR IS-2
These become heavy tanks for all Allied nations at 4-4-2-8, they can’t blitz and can be built after turn 5.
Allied Fighter = US P-40
These are starting US fighters, which are 3-3-4-9 and can only be built for the first 3 turns. The OOB fighters can be build from turn 4 onward.
Allied Bomber = UK Lancaster
This is a heavy Allied bomber that can be built anytime 5-2-6-14
Allied Transport = UK Tower Hill
Heavy Transport which carries 3 infantry, or 1 infantry and 1 other land unit. 0-0-2-9
Allied Sub = US Gato
Long Range sub which can move three spaces with or without NB.
Allied Destroyer = US Sumner Class
Advanced US destroyer available after turn X ( not sure which turn) not sure what attributes it might have.
Allied Carrier = Ark Royal
This is a super carrier for all allied nations. carries 3 planes
Allied Battleship = UK Hood
New battlecruiser class of ship for all allied nations. 3-3-2-16 takes two hits and SB @3.
Axis Tank = German Tiger
These become heavy tanks for all Axis nations at 4-4-2-8, they can’t blitz and can be built after turn 5.
Axis Fighter = German FW-190
Alternate Axis fighter. 3-3-4-9
Axis Bomber = German He-111
This is a light Axis bomber that can be built anytime 3-1-6-10
Axis Transport = Japan Hakusan Maru
Heavy Transport for all Axis nations which carries 3 infantry, or 1 infantry and 1 other land unit. 0-0-2-9
Axis Sub = German Type VII
Replacement German sub, throw away those toothpick subs from OOB
Axis Destroyer = Japan Akitsuki
Advanced DD design for Japan only. These ships cost +1 IPC more but can carry 1 Infantry as transport.
Axis Carrier = Japan Akagi
This is the starting carriers for Japan. Carries 3 planes and Torpedo bombers attacking naval targets attack @4. Once sunk, these carriers can never be rebuilt and the special attack bonus is lost.
Axis Battleship = Japan Kongo
New battlecruiser class of ship for all Axis nations. 4-3-2-16 takes two hits and SB @3. Japan should start with at least one of these ( replace Yamato) in setups.
Notes: Yamato should be considered a super battleship option: 5-5-2-24 and SB @5
