It’s not obvious which die is which. Better to roll attack and defence separately, unless it’s clear the dice are different. However, I have some neat tricks for you, if you want.
Just doing the same roll as an example:
aa [dice 1d6<=1]
SBR [dice 1d6+2] -
1d6<=1: 6; Hits: 0
1d6+2: 1; Sum: 3 -
The dice rolled are in the order of the battle order listed:
Japanese AA @ 1: [dice 1d6]US Bmr die + 2: [dice 1d6]
In this case, both rolls were 3. So either way, the AA missed and the bmr hit at 3.

Much to consider. I apologize for the delay and all the edits. Plans kept changing because, for example, noticing previously unforeseen threats. Took back the attack on Midway, as Japan could easily take it back, rendering the sacrifice of two land units and a TT pointless. Exchanged a US sub for an unintended second and useless TT. Proabaly should have spent another day planning.
