@giallo Yes, that was critical. I was lucky, as I did a mistake when attacking that SZ with Germany. I had to be super careful not to sacrifice too many carriers for my planes to land. And at the same time, I was determined to keep one surviving destroyer to cope with the US sub. Of course, I accidentally got rid of the last destroyer. Damnit, your sub could sink my carrier, and the planes would be lost as well. At least the two fighters would have prevented an amphibious attack by the US. As it turned out, I was blessed by your dice…
