@noneshallpass very good! Agreed.
Does the Global War 1936-1945 board game (third edition) actually exist? How can I buy one?

I have selected the 4’x8’ map for you. The 3’x6’ map is too small and the 5’x10’ map is too big.
If you have the room for it, 5’x10’ is the way to go. Just budget a custom table… this one is not for the kitchen table!

@insanehoshi Thanks bro!

@hbg-gw-enthusiast thanks man- I appreciate the help!

@noneshallpass With the 5x10 you can up the scale of the ships!
-
@athawulf Some territories on the map, especially in China and Europe still feel small and crowded even on the 5x10 map. Things get especially busy on the Eastern Front when Germany invades the USSR.
Fleets can also fill a seazone, especially if the British, USA, Japan or Italy concentrate a lot of their ships in a single seazone.
So no, the bigger map does not mean that you should use larger miniatures.

@noneshallpass Your probably right. I would like to see how my 1:3000 scale ships look on it.
All my capital ships are larger than OOB and HBG sculpts. I was trying to go for uniformity in all my navies in look, material and scale.
I was tempted to go for 1:2400 scale for capital ships, but that was too large on the 4x8, and I have not tried it on the 5x10. I think 1:300 is the sweet spot right now for capital ships for the 4x8 and the for sure the 5x10, at least for me. -
@athawulf You need the units in the correct scale. The game is overcrowded as it is and too full of units. 1:3000 scale is oK, but no GHQ forget that! Only Davco or Navwar will work or the plastic ones ( HBG)

I agree. Thanks for the websites, but try here. XPForgecom. Any ship at any scale, 3D printed. You can even do special orders on ships he doesn’t carry. All my navies are from there. I couldn’t find a place that carried for example Germany’s Plan Z ships scaled to match the others I had.
Capital ships, all cruisers at 1:3000, DDs at 1:2400, Subs at 1:800, all perfectly sized. The problem with mixing OOB with other places is the scales and the sculpts are not consistent in quality , not only in the design, but also the material. Each to his own customizing.
