I can verify that proton mail does work for the verification setup (and that gmail no longer does). I signed up for a proton email a couple of weeks ago and I get MARTI dice. I am only using that address for TripleA games at this point. But as VF says, you don’t need to receive the dice as long as you trust your opponent ;)
