I’m looking for people in Gunnedah, NSW, who would like to play Axis and Allies 1942 second edition.
Players in the UK.

Looking for players in the North West of England.
Got Global 40 and getting Global 36. Got a few friends to play with but always looking for more. -
@Dran-Black Hi! Welcome to the forum Dran. I know three players in the Cheshire / Manchester area. Which I guess means two possibilities for you:
-
All three come to the Battle of Britain held quarterly in Derbyshire. As this is a one day event we play 42.2, Anniversary and/or 1914. Each bloodbath is recorded in the Events forum, so a look there will tell you that we are blessed with 11 regular players (leaving space for a couple more) and have a laugh. You are welcome to join us. Which would, of course, allow you to form relationships with the others. If you are interested let me know.
-
I join 2 of them each month in Manchester to play various games, most often A&A. We are currently in the midst of a game of Global 36, which is, of course, a three player game. Our host may feel unable to accommodate more players, but I can ask him if you like.
Cheers

Hey Man,
Good to hear from you. Around what times (quaterly) do you play in Derbyshire? I take it it’s a weekend thing. Is it a set group of weekends every year?
What other games do you play?What version of Global 36 do you have? Is it the big HBG version? Would be great if you could enquire with your mate. I’m only a quick train ride outside Manchester. Roughly where abouts in Manchester is it?
Cheers.

Hi Rob
Each quarterly BoB date is organised six months in advance for whichever Sunday option most of our regular players can make. The next two are on 20 Oct and 12 Jan, as publicised in the Events forum here.
At the BoB we play a mix of 42.2, Anniversary and 1914, a game of each being the ideal. A room full of A&A players laughing, cheering and screaming (as the moment dictates) is rather a joy!
Don’t worry if you do not know these versions. If you know one A&A game we can easily show you the others.
My friend in Manchester owns 1936 not me. I didn’t know there was anything other than the big HBG version, so I will say that is what it is! I am up there with him on Saturday and will try to remember to ask. He is in the south west suburbs.
Cheers

@Dran-Black Hey Rob! Spoke to my friend in Manchester as promised. He is currently considering expanding our games group to include a fourth person, despite the space constraints in his games attic. However, there is a BoB player from the NW who has already expressed interest. If that does not work out he might well be in touch.
We were playing day 3 of a game of 1936. I am allies and lost London on day 1!!! Ruddy paratroopers! Communist China and Republican Spain are dead too. But the axis advance appears to have ground to a halt. We shall see ……:thinking_face:

well if you get too many players, I would recommend taking a gaming weekend off and have everybody help build an extension that will accommodate everyone.
Just a thought :) -
@barnee Are you volunteering to come over and help! We will watch!
-
@Private-Panic
heh heh my passport expired but I can be used as a consultant :) -
@barnee Our problem is we have 11 consultants and no workers, so you are no ruddy help!
-
@Private-Panic
Thanks for the update. Let me know how the games and extension goes. -
@Dran-Black would be great, if you could make one of the Derbyshire meetings.
-
@Wittmann I will certainly try, though I’m at a wedding the 19th of Oct so will struggle to make the 20th. But I can probably make it in Jan.
Thanks for the Invite. As soon as I get a gaming room setup you guys are welcome to come over and play. -
@Dran-Black That sounds hopeful Rob. I will send you a PM.
