I’ve played perhaps 30+ games now but have never experienced a G1 attack on Russia or a G1 that does not hit the UK fleet. I’m really curious on how this plays out.

Its different… The first version of this strategy didn’t work very well vs Adam but I have made a few changes. Hopefully the dice wont rule the game, hehe :)

I’D say this was a dream start for the Germans in terms of dice!
In fact the Land Lease NOs only apply from turn 3, otherwise G1 DOW would be highly discouraged.
I played a G1 DOW against Omega in the Quarter finals in the current playoff, this was vanilla, however.Farmboy, now you need to show how well you unterstand playing the Allies. One reason the G1 DOW leaving the UK fleet, is, that many players do not know how to properly utilize the fleet they surprisingly have.

My starting assumption is that this is a riskier Axis strategy than I2/G3 but as I have no experience with it, I might be right on that and still get crushed. In addition to what to do with the UK fleet, I was really struggling on the Russia turn. Once it no longer has game consequences, I’ll be interested in commentary on my choices.
And I’m interested in the game with Adam. I don’t suppose you would share a link. Obviously it is because I want to understand how this plays out better so its fair if you don’t want to.

Actually the version I played with Adam was in 2016/2017. I think they changed the rules on Russian Convoy NOs being delayed until turn 3 because of my games with Adam :) Like JDow said before those changes it was highly discouraged to do a G1.

Here is a silly question that I should know the answer to. Japan can declare war on the US without declaring war on ANZAC and UK. So its possible that US units in the same zone as ANZAC or UK units would not be supported by its allies if Japan declares war only on the US and attacks. In my head as I was considering my turn, I was thinking that the DOW automatically brought the UK and ANZAC in but when I double checked the rules, they seem silent.
