Attacker retreat options

It doesn’t matter if the land unit survives to retreat or not.  Just its having moved into the territory establishes the retreat path.

If you’re going to use the US as your trading country, then make sure you have a good transport system in place. Get a 4x4 going on. Four transports from Ecan to UK, and UK to EEU (preferably) or Kar. And buy a fighter EVERY round so you can fly it to Russia. Do the same with the UK. Buy a fighter every round and fly it to Russia. Get a good fighter cover going, have Russia buy infantry out the wazoo (and an armour every now and then) and continually wear Germany down.

Just remember you can’t load units into a transport if the seazone is hostile. So for example, the Germans can’t send their transport in the mediterranean to SZ13 to load the units in Algeria to take Madagascar. You have to load units in a seazone which is friendly/neutral at the beginning of the turn.

My apologies.  Yes, the submerge rule also is in effect with enemy DSTs.

But just like DST’s do not negate Super Subs attackign on 3’s, neither do they negate Wolf Pack NA.

Aggressive Russia means you still take Africa, still clear the Med, AND take out the Russian advance forces.  Then re-group in G2 for further advances against a Russia depleted of offensive units.

And the other side of the coin is…

Threaten strafe and TAKE instead.  It just worked in my current game.  Jen was afraid of a German Strafe from Caucuses (I am guessing) making her Moscow force too weak to hold against the Japan.  So she evac’d instead killing the German force and surrendering Moscow.

Strafe Threats CAN be very fun :-D

Yeah, I CAN write a good AI program.  Or at least, if not GOOD,  not bad.

But even writing the algorithm would take a whole chunk of time.  Writing the code, debugging it . . . another chunk.

Time = money.

I have no problem with the wildest requests (“I want Alaskan king crab straight from Alaska, and I want it in three hours!”) . . . but without allocated resources and/or manpower, it’s no go.

And us old AD&D players who have more d6 than you can shake a stick at…

It has been 6 years since I last played D&D, and right now, within 30 seconds, I could lay my hands on enough D6 to designate a specific die for every single unit in battle… including each INF having its own die!  100th level fireballs :-P
