  • Friendly reminder, to avoid any problems with this J move, in zone 42 if you attack the submarine, you will not be able to move ground units off Java in the noncombat movement phase because transports (which would include cruiser/battleship picking up marines) that load ground units in the combat movement phase must take them on an amphibious assault (page 15 of Europe rulebook). If the transports stay in Zone 42, they are necessarily involved in the combat and so then cannot move.

    You can move sea units away during the combat movement phase to avoid the combat, but the transports can’t load unless they are going to conduct an amphibious assault this turn.

    This is all only if you attack the sub - if you ignore it, of course you can transport the ground units freely during the noncombat movement phase.

    I apologize if you already knew all this, I just wanted to try and avoid a problem before it happens.
